Thrasher Fan
Getting a real nice snow shower here in Dunwoody right now. That's what I like to hear. Hopefully it holds together a bit further east.
superjames1992
Heavy sleet continues... 22 degrees. It's loud out there.
SN_Lover
This may not have been snow, but the amount of sleet outside is gonna take forever to melt!
10below
Snow/sleet mix here. This is crazy. And looking at the radar it wont be letting up any time soon in Western Randolph County.
jrips27
Just took a walk as it was pouring snow. Not a sound to be heard and it's stunning outside. Haven't measured, but if I had to guess we've picked up about an inch of new snow. Maybe a little more. Maybe we will end up with the 2-4 predicted? I'm happy! JoshWeather
So that deform band that poured in Bama earlier has just been spinning on top of Huntsville, AL for about 2 hours now. I woner what their Accumulation #'s are like?
Artie Fufkin
Snowing consistently in Sandy Springs for the past several hours. Flakes have gone from very fine to medium. What's left of the piece of energy that dumped on Bham a while ago is about to move through - hopefully it can kick things up a notch...

Yeah that band lost its west to east motion and is now moving south right before it got to me. This storm just isnt meant to be for me. lol

I also just took a walk, my first of the day. Ah, what a walk! Beautiful, wet flakes and it was so quiet with nobody else out there. It is still snowing at a pretty good clip. I estimate 1/4" in just 30 minutes and it is still coming down on top of the sleet. What a winter wonderland!
superjames1992
It's still hammering. +IP. I tried to take a measurement, but that was pretty much impossible. Maybe 6-7", but with compaction and drifting from the winds, it's tough. We'll see what GSO reports.

superjames1992
Looks like another impressive slug of moisture is in upstate SC heading towards CLT and the Triad. Could this be snow by the time it gets here? Mid-level temperatures should start to cool soon, I'd think. If not, more IP!

JoshWeather
Is KCLT's report of -SN at 1 AM accurate? As in actual snow rather than IP? I'm in charlotte, but I don't know. I don't hear any pingers hitting the roof at my job, but I don't have any windows to verify if there is snow or not.
jtgus
Sleet has really packed the snow down but still around 5-6 inches and it is still pouring

rxwxunc
I thought we might avoid the dreaded ZR monster, but there are rain drops on the window. NWS in RAH says from 1 to 4 am of freezing rain.
CherokeeGA
NE Cherokee County GA Temp - 29 DP - 29 Precip - 1.5" sleet from early morning. AND FINALLY I SEE A SNOWFLAKE. A tiny flurry but now I've at least seen a flake so I'm going to sleep. Not enough here for sledding or even to fully cover the grass, but maybe some of the better stuff they are showing on tv will make it here later. Hmm... I may have to stay up for this next precip batch to see what's up with it. I'll probably go to bed if we're just getting more IP. Looks like it's moving into CLT now and has another hour or so to go before making it here. I'm currently on the tail end of the current precipitation band with only scattered light precipitation seemingly in the interim between the two bands. EDIT: INT reported 24/-SN at last hour. Perhaps that is accurate based on the radar.
