NEGa
Thanks for posting that. agreed! my turn to ask a silly question lol - this CC radar stuff is new to me with this storm. so i am assuming that what is the line is the bright echos that are moving from far ne ga towards the se into the upstate, right? BullCityWx
We had a little freezing drizzle during the lull. Our snow is now encased with a bit of life preserving ice.
Wow
Snow line moving south out west http://weather.cod.edu/satrad/nexrad/index.php?type=GSP-N0C-1-24 Yeah you can see the yellow/green returns diminish over the same area.
max100
Atlanta is going to get clocked in about an hour or two. Radar is filling in rapidily to the south.
Ga Snohound
Sorry for quoting...technical dummy here.. .Gawx (Larry), Thanks for the reply. You may not remember but we've conversed a few times over year (going back to wwbb)..always appreciate your knowledge of our area and especially our climatological history. This really has been the most satisfying event for me in a very long time. I love these heavy ip events....I actually believe (as your info substantiated) that this thing verified well to the extent that had this been an all an event, we would have realized some record totals in line w what euro was advertising. Again, only real glitch was handling of wedge which wasn't awful either. All in all one of the better handled events both by models abd mets for our area. I am sometimes critical of our local mets/ffc sometimes and believe its only right I give them their much deserved congrats on this one!!
jxnmswx
Precip. increasing north east of Montgomery should move over the Atl. area as snow!

Thrasher Fan
Atlanta is going to get clocked in about an hour or two. Radar is filling in rapidily to the south. I was just observing that as well. Hopefully the upper air readings can get their act together so its all snow.

FLweather
It went quiete a few minutes so checked. Went from a ranging sleet to ip/snow. So I think the warm nose has showed its true color and caa aloft should really be kicking in.
JoshWeather
I just don't see that deformation band making it to the Charlotte area. It looks, to me, like its gonna stay in the mountains/foothills. I could be wrong though because I'm just using my eyes.

superjames1992
Looks like the northward jog of the snow/sleet line has stopped for now in the Triad. I'm on the wrong side of it, but maybe we can move that sucker south/east again. http://weather.cod.edu/satrad/nexrad/index.php?type=RAX-N0C-1-48 http://weather.cod.edu/satrad/nexrad/index.php?type=FCX-N0C-0-24#
LovingGulfLows
BHM has to be getting the heaviest rates this storm has seen so far. 55-60 DBZ returns for snow???? Snow is light so it takes a hell of a lot of it to return those DBZ values. 2-3 inch snowrates easily there.

That is correct NeGa and dual pole radar is about the same concept. 50/50 snow / sleet after 4 hours of ZR! Maybe we can get a couple more inches of something out of this to lessen the sting of failure.
