Snowless in Carrollton
0z Canadian similar to 12z with a huge storm for everyone. Looks like 1"+ QPF all snow west and north of 85 for NC/SC/GA I assume you don't mean the entire 85 corridor in GA.

blindsx
Those in the Upstate this link will give you a pretty good depiction of what to expect accumulation wise, incorporating compaction and stuff. I agree pretty well with the idea of about 6 inches total. http://www.meteor.iastate.edu/~ckarsten/bufkit/image_loader.phtml?site=kgsp

Shawn
Canadian 00z is a lot more sleet/snow involved before really dropping the hammer for ZR into the Midlands from a quick glance.

Looks like 1"+ QPF all snow west and north of 85 for NC/SC/GAJust throwing this out there, the heaviest snow is usually just North or West of the mix/rain transition to snow. So it's a very close call as has been said , between 2-3 inches of sleet and a foot of snow.

superjames1992
What impact if any will the warm soil temps high 40's have on accumlation They'll be in the low 40s to upper 30s by the storm, IMO. That shouldn't cut back on accumulations much, if at all. At the moment, soil temperatures are in the mid-40s near Charlotte and in the lower 40s up this way. Temperatures are going to be cold tomorrow. They're a little warmer into SC and GA, but I really don't see that being an issue at all. The sun angle might be more of an issue, but with likely heavy rates, it probably won't matter much, either. This looks to be a cold storm with temperatures well into the 20s at the surface in the CAD regions, so that will be a big help. It should stick very quickly. Lookout
This is total precip from tonight's canadian. It says the nam might not be so crazy with a stripe of 3 inch liquid amounts somewhere over ga/sc. Here is tonight's nam for comparison
jrips27
CMC is another good run for us in North Georgia. That back edge would really give us a nice snowfall. It is a bit concerning to see so much freezing rain around here. Will have to hope it trends colder and is mainly sleet instead.
BullCityWx
Also, some good news for Cola as bufkit says they lose about 1/3rd of their QPF to rain.

griteater
Overall, the Canadian looks like a blend between the NAM and GFS in terms of 500mb height evolution and low tracks (upper / sfc)

Looks like mostly snow and/or sleet here with some light freezing rain accumulation verbatum with the canadian..all 2.25 to 2.5 inch liquid worth. Seriously though, somewhere some folks are going to be the losers with this freezing rain and it won't be pretty.
