joey2002
I'll never forget it. , I skipped class for a week to track it, I didn't sleep during the storm, and I never saw payloaders being used to clear streets until then. UConn cancelled 4 days of classes fortunately, so I didn't miss any, but I also stayed up all night during the storm. I wanted to experience the entire event, and get accurate measurements. I'll never forget that 6"/hour band of snow along with chunks of hail falling from the sky, lol.

codfishsnowman
most snow ive seen from a storm here in dv. spfd totals seem low on pns for once, had a 21 to 22 inch avg depth at storms end and the vast majority fell from 9 pm to 3am (17 inches!!)...9am to 9 pm was horrible snow growth and crappy tiny flakes demolished by strong winds....only 3 inches despite low vis etc....the way snow is measured these days an argument could really be made for solid 24 here. i am not sure if i had ever been so anxious in my life waiting and praying for that band to pivot bc it really just made it in here as 30 to 40 miles nw amounts tappered sig. If it got captured and stalled out it would have occluded and you probably would have seen maybe 2-3 inches more. There is a Max, this maxed out. I had roughly 24 inches, most of the reports around me were 27" so maybe I under measured but with all the drifting, IDK. I am just glad I hit the Northern edge of the superband for an hour and a half. That was insane.

weatherwiz
That storm was pretty amazing. Luckily my mom's car was not in service at the time b/c we had nowhere to dump the snow so we just threw it on our side of the driveway...and her car was buried for a good month. My girlfriend had to park in a parking lot across the street when she came overnight too b/c there was no room to park in the driveway.

ORH_wxman
The sat looked like a GOM special There was a moisture feed from the GOM...many Miller Bs have them as the main low tracks through the TN/OH valleys and the trailing cold front is down intot the gulf states drawing moisture right up into it...then you get the coastal redevelopment. 40/70 Benchmark
It was a Miller B. like we established the other day there are subsidaries....like the swfe. Like Will said, it was a Miller B with a GOM connection. Not sure what the issue is. The entire east coast would have been buried.
