SchaumburgStormer
Flake size keeps improving. Straight snow clumps falling now. Best snowfall I have seen all year.
OceanStWx
First band sort of crapping the bed as it tries to get in here. Still not a flake. Ripping in the QC though. Shaping up nicely to bowl through New England tomorrow. I like seeing all these convective type obs, bodes well for a compact, intense system up our way. cyclone77
Wow, 12z NAM shows sub 0.3" screw hole right over northwest IL. Gotta love it. With areas northeast seeing ripping snow, and haven't seen a flake here yet I'm starting to think 4.2" may be too high. Gonna ride it till it goes down in flames, but this isn't looking like a warning event here.

wegoweather
Well that escalated quickly. Had a few minutes of near whiteout conditions due to the wind whipping the ground snow and SN+ coming down.
A-L-E-K
20-25 dbz knocking on my door now but the band is looking less and less healthy and should only drop a few tenths. Main slug looking decent but we'll need the defo feature to hit forecasted amounts.

A-L-E-K
2.8 i've already said it will bust an inch or so too low...it's only 1 inch off from the low end of LOT's forecasted amounts.

Baum
I hope Gino come on here and posts his thoughts to straighten you low ballets outHigher amounts are all based on convection. And based on early reports and the squally nature of the snowfall those calls are warranted. Not that I know much beyond what I've seen in the past.Plus if you were betting man this winter, ride the high.

Powerball
The NAM is encouraging for Detroit this evening, especially as the low closes off at 500mb. It even shows a reasonable threat of TSSN.
