pondo1000
euro has the clipper as well, but way less precip, more of a 1-3" deal...than it has a follow up clipper about the same strength a couple of days later.... Clippers have not been the Euro's forte this year. Let's go with the Canadian FTW!
pondo1000
fwiw...the ggem was way higher with snowfall forecasts with the two clippers a few weekends ago and nailed it here. The euro was consistenty much drier. This Great minds, great minds......
michsnowfreak
You guys and this grand finale talk This region will probably see several snowstorms in March, and in fact, many north of I-80 have probably seen more epic snowstorms in Feb than Mar. Hoosier
12z Euro LAF micro bullseye for Friday. Screen Shot 2014-02-10 at 1.07.29 PM.png lol Didn't seem to be much 12z GEFS support for a solution as robust as the GGEM.
Geos
GFS for the first system. 2-5" deal for most people.
Hoosier
GFS for the first system. 2-5" deal for most people. That map actually covers more than 1 system on the GFS.
Chicago WX
lol Didn't seem to be much 12z GEFS support for a solution as robust as the GGEM. GGEM is a good weenie model these days...and probably wrong. The GFS, on the other hand, has pretty much nothing for us with the Friday impulse. Euro seems to be a nice compromise, 1-3" type deal...but even then, I think it tends to run a touch dry with clippers.
Geos
That map actually covers more than 1 system on the GFS. Fixed. 2-4" system likely then.
cyclone77
GFS for the first system. 2-5" deal for most people. QC/Cedar Rapids riding edge. Chicago jackpot. Looks reasonable.

RyanDe680
sigh... QUICK GLANCING BLOW OF ARCTIC AIR SHOULD KNOCK TEMPS BACK DOWNFRIDAY INTO FRIDAY NIGHT...FOLLOWED BY ANOTHER CLIPPER SYSTEM THATCOULD AFFECT THE AREA SATURDAY. THE 12Z MEDIUM RANGE MODELS POINTTOWARD THE POTENTIAL FOR A SWATH OF SOME PRETTY GOOD SNOW WITH THESATURDAY CLIPPER...BUT THIS IS WAY TOO FAR OUT INTO MODEL FANTASYLAND TO START GETTING ALL REVVED UP ABOUT SNOW AS THINGS COULD STILLCHANGE DRAMATICALLY. HAVING SAID THAT...SATURDAY BEARS WATCHING FORACCUMULATING SNOW POTENTIAL.

snowstormcanuck
GFS now tries to spin up the D7 storm, although a crappier version of it compared to the 12z EURO/GEM.

nwohweather
I know I'm almost snowed out, but god how awesome would it be to break that record this weekend. Only need 6" to do so
Sidewinder
A tick south would be nice this time. IND also needs 6.1" to break its all time record.

Time to go big snow and cold which is not in the picture (going laf timmy here) or go warm and sun tanning ice fishing. Snow Machine trails in se wi are flat and fast as ever even with the orgy of screwjob stat padders. still waiting for this to be a winter to remember outside of snow cover days and this weak sauce cold we're acclimated to by now. DAB++ first and final.

I'm happy that you are still hoping for a big storm, but as you said the chances are small (I'd say less than 50% given seasonal trends, which often play quite a large part even in a different pattern).
