That dry slot really did kill the snow through the early AM. I only measured 5-3/4 inches this morning around 8 AM. However, in the past hour, the snow has ramped up over upper East Tn and SWVa.  We've got an additional inch since 10 AM. The band that is forming doesn't look like it's going anywhere anytime soon. Perhaps we can get 2-3 more inches out of this.

Anyone talking about the potential for another quick inch Friday Night?

A LOOK AT THERMAL PROFILES SUGGESTS THERE
MAY BE SOME SNOW FRIDAY OVER THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS...AND THE RAIN
MAY TRANSITION TO SNOW FRIDAY NIGHT BEFORE ENDING EVEN IN LOWER
ELEVATION AREAS. SOME LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE
POSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY HIGHER ELEVATIONS. NO ADVISORY FOR NOW
ESPECIALLY GIVEN THE ONGOING WARNING FOR THE CURRENT EVENT...BUT
WILL CONTINUE TO MENTION IN HWO.
