Yeah, that was extremely surprising.  I was at work in Goose Creek when it started hitting the tin roof in the shop and stepped outside, and sure enough, 45 degrees and moderate to heavy sleet and rain, lasted about 15 minutes.   Called in to report it, thinking I was crazy, but there were so many reports coming to them in troves regarding sleet falls in Summerville.   very interesting sounding as well during that time.

Temperature
34.9 °F

Here in ILM LOTS of Virga overhead...

***The reports coincide with the bright banding ie. High
reflectivities at the 6k to 9k foot level when looking at the 0.5
degree slice from kltx. Will update the precipitation forecast for the ilm
County Warning Area and include the possibility of sleet or snow...except for the
immediate coastal zones. Temperatures at the lower levels remain above
freezing...and thus no accumulation expected.

Have continued to mention possible frozen precipitation across the inland
portions of the ilm County Warning Area. This basically covers an area north of a
line extending from lagoon of Bladen County southwest to Sardis of
Florence County. Precipitation probabilities will continue to be advertised
in the low chance category...with the addition of the chance for
light snow and/or light rain...or a mixture of both. South of this
line...will include possible ice pellets or snow**
