...ICE FORMATION ON ROADS...

ICING ON ROADS IS BEING REPORTED AROUND THE REGION. THIS IS THE
RESULT OF WATER FROM SNOWMELT REFREEZING.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ADVISES THAT MOTORISTS AND PEDESTRIANS
EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION TONIGHT AND EARLY THURSDAY AS WATER WILL
CONTINUE TO FREEZE ON UNTREATED SURFACES.

Euro in the long range at day 8-10 has a blizzard that hammers all of the east coast with 2-3 feet. Verbatim we get maybe 6 or more inches.

I saw that too! Not surprised the one last hurrah is out there. I wonder how long until social media starts hyping this storm and calling for 36 inches and blizzard conditions along I-95! I'm glad we have one to start watching again though.

Looks like maybe an inch to 3 Tuesday Wednesday.....

Looks like maybe 2-3 Monday night - Tuesday morning, and another 2-3 Wednesday morning on 12z GFS. Wednesday event as the potential to maybe trend stronger.

GGEM seems to show a wave riding along a front on Sunday.

Looks like a potentially snowy week coming up. Big one on the GFS getting out into fantasy land, but its a cutter right now.

is the fantasy cutter the one a few days I was barking about.

I can see the grass in about 60% of my yard. Some places is a lot more. I suspect the rest of the snow will take a huge hit today.

When I left for work this morning I still had 2-4 inches, varying depth of course. I could see the layer of zr from one of the previous storms. Guessing tomorrow will finish it off if we hit 50 with sun.

Hey guys, this is more of a long-range topic, but thought you might be interested... from discussions here at UAlbany, signals seem to be pointing towards an El Nino developing in the next few months.  If so, we should then monitor its strength for hints at winter 2014-15.  Seems like the weak-moderate El Ninos have produced great winters in PIT, in terms of cold (but not as cold as we've been this winter), several moderate snow events, and the much wanted "big one."

Still a bit of snow to melt here... There are alot of bare spots showing but still a few inches in places. The warm ground argument to limit snow accumulation tomorrow was used on the morning news today. Should have more accumulation (1-2") north of the city tomorrow. Probably <1" around the city.

Snow is gone in my yard.

Not going to lie, I love snow, but days like today makes it tough to want more. I'm starting to get Spring fever.

Today finished the snow pack off for me. Just one to many days for it to hold out. Sunny and 50s will usually do that. Now that the pack is gone I sort of feel the same way. Once the snow melts I can move on lol. Reality is its going to get cold again, so might as well run with it and see if we can tack another 12 inches or more onto out totals. Still the outside chance of a bigger one before we call it quits too.
