So one last thought before I do some homework. It feels awesome outside with the sun. Low 40s and sun feels like spring at this point. Also I have been reading peoples thoughts/blogs and the consensus is that something big is possibly on the horizon. The teleconnections look insane. Something to keep an eye on because its still a far ways away.

Snowmelt is on in full force today; it is going fairly quickly, at least at this latitude. Higher sun angle this time of year as well will make the winter's work but a memory by Thursday.

Warmth in this sector was underdeveloped by the models, and the moisture plume missed completely on round 2. I also think the first round was overdeveloped on guidance.

Yeah, I was nervous about the prospects of this storm. We had a low cutting to our North with stale cold air and trough going negative, not a good recipe for snow but still managed to produce some interesting weather up this way.

Based on the posts from the past few days, I also belive a Pgh/Western Pa banter thread would be beneficial.

We seemed to have received an influx of new posters this winter, and with this, various points of view on things.

So for the sake of keeping the main thread uncluttered as possible, I'm gonna create our own banter thread, and see what happens.

So I noticed something this evening while I was outside. The snow has a hard shell on it now that the sun has set. After some further investigation, I also noticed that puddles are starting to freeze and my street has some icy patches on it. Temp is still in the mid 30s, so the frozen ground and snow pack must be keeping the air just above the surface below freezing. Pretty interesting I thought.

I wouldn't be suprised if we get a statement tomorrow morning about pockets of freezing rain even with temps above freezing.

Yeah, my temp is about 37 F, but most of the melted snow is starting to freeze on the sidewalks.

Also one last post before I go to the gym, the severe threat for the end of the week looks interesting.

Skip to about half way through

I was just reading the article they have also before I saw your post.  I wanted to come here and see what everyone's thoughts are on it also.  Here is the link to the article with a graphic showing the wind gusts as 40-60 MPH http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/warm-storm-for-end-of-week-may/23421146
