RitualOfTheTrout
Looking at that radar it seems this might be a bit further NW, at least with the expanse of the precip shield than even the Euro showed. You can see some nice returns not far off the East, they won't make it here but damn is it close. All in all not a bad event I guess, its been a steady light to moderate snow all day. Totals won't end up all that impressive but can't complain at this point.

RitualOfTheTrout
Off Topic from the snow, but look what the GFS shows for next weekend, that's one classic spring like storm system, if this comes into play late next week, there could be some nasty thunderstorms Look at this beautiful site. Yeah, if that storm is modeled correctly next weekend we should torch pretty good ahead of it. Could be some flooding possibly?
Rdd9108
Yeah, if that storm is modeled correctly next weekend we should torch pretty good ahead of it. Could be some flooding possibly? yeah we could see flooding but I feel bad for everyone getting 12+. Its gonna get reAl nasty. I hope we can get a nice week of mild temps and then reload for a final push in march. I feel like we get some good storms in march. It must be the gradient between the south being hot and us being cold.
jwilson
Still snowing down here, haven't cared enough to measure but eyeballing 3-4 inches. Pretty much as expected; unfortunate the vort in the midwest sheared off the precip shield. Clipper coming down next looks to slide underneath all of us. Then the end of snow chances maybe? Pattern goes warm at least for a week or two. Then again progged warmth this winter has always been overdone, so maybe it won't be too bad. I know some of you guys want the warm weather but I'm not ready yet!
Stinkbugspecialist
Hey Youngstown. R weather is close. To yours but I'm betting u do a little better on the lake affect machine ??
SirSonic
Back edge of the snow seems to be moving east, maybe an hour or so of light snow, picked up around 4 or 5 inches, the roads are nasty in places. I think there's the chance of another inch or so from the clipper. The torch will bring spring like weather. But were going to likely see some flooding, and with strong storm systems coming from the west. I won't be shocked if we strong thunderstorm activity if conditions become favorable

Atownwx
Hey Youngstown. R weather is close. To yours but I'm betting u do a little better on the lake affect machine ?? Really there's not much difference. If we get a streamer that parks itself over us we will pick up a few extra inches, but that hasn't happened in a while. Our official snowfall ussually gets overstated because it is measured at the Youngstown Airport in central Trumbull County, which is in the secondary snowbelt. Mailman
Looks like we're back at it again overnight tomorrow into Saturday. GFS seems to be a bit more generous than the NAM with the moisture. We shall see.

It must be the gradient between the south being hot and us being cold. That's a good point. Right now the greatest contrast in temps is between land and sea, so the storms are going to develop offshore, more than not. However in March, the South can get pretty warm at times, so with a more amplified pattern, there's the chance a northern stream vort could dive down into the tennessee valley, and phase with a warm humid stj. That's probably our best chance at a 12"+ storm

Jamie just posted the Euro weeklies from the Philly forum, and its back to negative departures after a couple day warmup. Can't discount it getting really warm for a few days if we get a massive cutter, but a +PNA and -EPO return will be likely.
