Clinch Leatherwood
GFS backed off...1-2" for most. We'll have to watch for spot enhancement totals. Hopefully we can hold it where it is and have a nice little system spin through.
jamesnichols1989
NAM is a step in the right direction towards the GFS idea. I don't believe the GFS output for QPF, too weak for a surface low that strong. Also NAM is too far south with the surface low now. It will correct northward with time. dendrite
Wish the vortmax was a little more consolidated and not so strung out. It's hard to see this more than 1-2".
Clinch Leatherwood
Even has is the hi res NAM has it snowing almost all day Sunday in eastern areas with a narrow miss of more significant snows with the tight spin on the trough. Could be an interesting day if it breaks well.

TauntonBlizzard2013
I'll take 1-2 inches with wintry appeal. Wouldn't be shocked too see this trend a little more healthy as we get close to the start.

Clinch Leatherwood
1-3 spot 4's regionwide. I think there's going to be some donut holes in the region..just no way of knowing where in between bands. I think models are probably taking the s/w apart too fast...so there's still hope for a better hit from the redeveloping low.
ORH_wxman
Euro still quite tame. I think an inch or two right now is the safe play. Can always up it if things look more impressive in the final run or two leading up.

educate
Radar seems surprisingly robust. When vorticity gets advected into the region, this might get interesting.
ORH_wxman
How tame QPF wise? Any improvement at all? Not really...basically 0.05-0.10 across the board. The s/w is ok looking...I could see it perhaps trending mildly better, but not a lot.

CoastalWx
Man what is wrong with the Euro on these northern stream systems? I don't see anything wrong with it. Big deal, it went from flurries to an inch or two. GFS went from 4-6" to 2" in one run.

Heisy
Radar seems surprisingly robust. When vorticity gets advected into the region, this might get interesting. The main vort that drops the heavy precip on the GFS doesn't come through until 36+ hours, the radar you're seeing now is from a different vort. Mikehobbyst
It is so amazing, how these tiny six sided ice crystals cause so much model debates, model watching and loss of sleep.... Sometimes I think these tiny six siders have more power to mess with our minds and excitement.

If the end of the week doesn't play out, I may well end up below average. Of course, that can always change with other events, but the likelihood will increase.
