Getting close to right around the FRZ mark.   12z GFS at 8 am WED has KCHS at 33 with .42" QPF.  that's significantly colder than previous runs.   NAM has KCHS at 32

Will be interesting to see the next few model cycles and see if they continue the colder trend.  Cannot imagine 2 ice storms within 2 weeks here in chs, would be the first of its kind.

Now for a prayer .. mods forgive me :D

Listen to me, Euro, and answer me,
    for I am helpless and weak.
2 Save me from rain and 33 degrees, because I am loyal to you;
    save me, for I am your servant and I trust in you.
3 You are my favorite weather model, so be merciful to me;
    I pray to you all day long.
4 Make your servant glad, O Euro,
    because my prayers go up to you.
5 You are good to us and forgiving,
    full of constant love for all who pray to you.
6 Listen, Euro, to my prayer;
    hear my cries for help.
7 I call to you in times of trouble,
    because you answer my prayers.
8 There is no my favorite weather model like you, O Euro,
    not one has done what you have done.
9 All the nations that you have created
    will come and bow down to you;
    they will praise your greatness.
10 You are mighty and do wonderful things;
    you alone are my favorite weather model.
11 Teach me, Euro, what you want me to see,
    and I will obey you faithfully;
    teach me to serve you with complete devotion.
12 I will praise you with all my heart, O Euro my favorite weather model;
    I will proclaim your greatness forever.
13 How great is your constant love for me!
    You have saved me from the grave itself.
14 Proud people are coming against me, O Euro;
    a cruel gang of inferior models is trying to kill me with sleet—
    people who pay no attention to you.
15 But you, O Euro, are a merciful and loving my favorite weather model,
    always patient, always kind and faithful.
16 Turn to me and have mercy on me;
    strengthen me and save me,
    because I serve you just as my mother did.
17 Show me proof of your goodness, Euro;
    those who hate me will be ashamed
    when they see that you have given me comfort and help

Testify!! If Canadian verifies, we will all need to pray!

Just putting this out there but climo heavily disagrees with the CMC regarding Atlanta. That would be historic for us.

Yeah I agree, the low needs to get going way more SW of where the GEM shows it, sort of like a 1993 type setup for heavy snow there...my guess is it ends as some snow but is mainly a PL event...I do think you may escape a catastrophic ZR event at least in ATL...MCN may be a different story...I'm also strongly against any snow there tomorrow night, the WSWs to me are warranted but they should be from 2pm onward Tuesday, not tomorrow night, at least outside of far NRN GA.

Don't forget to throw in the sleet event last Thursday night at 45 degrees in between it lol.

The 2nd week of February is our climatologically favored week for winter weather, in fact, most of our major events have occurred on this week.   Feb 12th 2010 snow, and the Feb 11th, 1973 of course, 2nd week of February.   NAM/GFS trended 10 degrees colder in the past 24 hours.

NAM/GFS right on the cusp of ZR getting into the Lowcountry south of the airport if trends continue colder still

I think you are right. I can see FFC adjusting the watch so that areas south of Rome and Gainesville are not included until Tuesday afternoon.

JB thinks the low will track just inland through NC and then re-emerge off Norfolk before heading up the coast. A blend of the EURO and CMC seems to be the safest bet right now with the GFS having it's "issues" (like normal) with the suppression of the low and diffused nature of the low(s)

You thinking, given the trends so far today, MCN might be ground zero for a significant ZR storm?

What is a PL event?
