WestCoaster
Biggest surprise to me is the drifts in the open spaces , untouched and completely carved by the wind. Up to my upper abdomen
WestCoaster
Areas between the 401 and 407 probably did the best with this, the gradient going down north and south of that line. Buttonville should rock this storm

YHM Supercell
Areas of my road were up to/above my shins. Someone from Hamilton said 25cm in his measurement about an hour ago. Wonder what the final word at YHM will be...heard that at one point they recorded 6cm in 1 hr....thats according to a weather page on twitter. Whats your take on what YYZ might tally up? I suspect in the realm of 15-20cm atleast. 30.1cm in my area.

Funny how when i go out to measure theres still only ~25cm on my snowboard. Pretty sure that more has fallen since then... Blowing and drifting is making it hard to measure accurately. Have an additional 2-3cm on the driveway over the same time period.

WestCoaster
I don't understand how the models failed so hard on this. Never was this an 8-13" event for the GTA, and that's what it became. The best I saw was 6-9" It helped that ratios were probably 20:
harrisale
Pearson has downgraded their snow total today from 14 cm to 11 cm due to "melting" What? That's mind-boggling. Wouldn't one add to the total to account for melting? I think it's pretty clear almost everyone in the GTA received 15cm+ from this system, hopefully 11cm doesn't go down in the record books for this system... lol

The best I saw was 6-9" It helped that ratios were probably 20:1 Yeah ratios were definitely really high, considering from about 6-8am this morning, radar returns were much lower down here on WKR than what they would have seemed to be given the intensity of the snows. High ratio snows have lower dbz values on reflectivity?

Clear your snowboard more often during the event, it will help; just add to the total you already measured, no need for that much snow on one board; it will be more likely to compact or blow off: less friction

I call people and force them to measure I've got a report for Yonge & Eglinton: 24 cm Good work Would be nice to see a map of the snowfall measurements so as to see how widespread the big totals were, or if they were very isolated pockets. I could throw something together if we can get a good list of measurements going. Can't wait to get home and check my total. Definitely busted low on my 16cm call. YHM Supercell
Now thats the true definition of a whiteout. Was at work, and it was just pure white outside couldn't really see the corner of Upper James and Stone church which is about 200m away, apparently YHM recorded 6cm in 1 hour during that time frame. WestCoaster
From Anthony Farnell: GTA Snowfall totals as of 4pm: Downsview 28cm, Hamilton 24, Vaughan 21, Brampton 21, East York 20, Etobicoke 18, Riverdale 18, Aurora 15 YorkU is only a 10 minute drive from Downsview so the YorkU total makes sense. A bit curious about that 21 cm for Vaughan given Snowstorms measured 30 cm. A 9cm discrepancy can't be possible.

Snowstorms
EC don't want to look bad with their original forecast, c'mon now Lmaoo. Honestly, what you said always comes to my mind whenever theirs a storm. EC will do anything to lowball YYZ so it "fits in" with their forecast. Its a joke! EC needs to get its act together and make all these changes. First and foremost, get rid of the ****ing Nipher. How did you do with this storm? Snowstorms
After a careful analysis I'm going to bring down my initial measurement, simply because of all the blowing snow thats been occurring through out the day. My revised storm total is now 27.0cm instead of 30.0cm. Snow depth now stands at 2 feet in my area
