John1122
Snow is finally lightened up a little here, 7.5 inches through 2 am.
John1122
It's an impressive band that is sitting over the I-75 corridor from Nooga to Anderson County. It dried out on both sides of it but that one keeps cranking.
Tabbycat
It's a very wet snow here, John. Slushy where I walked to measure.
Stovepipe
It's an impressive band that is sitting over the I-75 corridor from Nooga to Anderson County. It dried out on both sides of it but that one keeps cranking. Expanding ever so slowly eastward. Picking up a bit here. Louisville towards Alcoa getting in on it. Reb almost in play. Edit: Nickel sized flakes again lol.
John1122
Starting to get reports of power outages across the Southern half of CC.
dwagner88
Current depth is 8 inches. Considering at least 1 inch melted this afternoon, I think we have outdone January 2011 here. Likely just a little over 9 inches total. Still snowing too.
Tabbycat
This snow didn't blow around any at all here. Right outside my back door it's just wet and I can hear water dripping from a gutter. In the front, part of under the car is wet pavement. The trees are the prettiest I've seen since I don't know when. A long long time.
John1122
NE Alabama is getting pummeled under that ULL. It's supposed to track across East Tennessee into NC. Along and NW of it may see more very heavy snow tonight.
machetemoonlight
any reports of snow depth in places like Scottsboro or Guntersville? Just curious.
Tabbycat
Just Huntsville, from BamaChem. 8", I believe. That's fairly close.
dwagner88
I bet much of Jackson County Alabama has nearly a foot. Things are getting a little unsettling here. I can still see lightning flashes outside, and I hear a tree crack every minute or so.
machetemoonlight
power just flickered... still very surprised no outage here. Heavy snow again, I know I'm probably not measuring very well, but I still only have around 6 to 6 and half inches.
John1122
Only 1/4th inch in the last hour. Just very light snow now, just about wound down here. 7.75 total. Triple what I was expecting.
machetemoonlight
think it's done here, for the most part.
dwagner88
EPB appears to have thousands of outages this morning. They haven't issued a number, but their map indicates 500+ outages in all but 2 of their service areas.
Carvers Gap
Soooo, how did Chatt do overnight? There were many discussions yesterday about rain, mixing, the like. Most of us thought the models would bring you snow. What are the downtown totals around Chatt and surrounding areas?
Mr Bob
Downtown is 2-3...lots of melting down here though..I put two pics from downtown last night in the pic thread....Jeff says he has 8 in east brainerd which seems to be pretty standard in the burbs from all of the people I have been talking too... dwagner88
I've got about 8.5 near the Jenkins Rd roundabout in east Brainerd. I have some amazing pictures from this morning. I'll try to upload some later to the pic thread. I think that all told we would have had nearly a foot if we hadn't changed over. I way underestimated how strong that deformation zone would be. Mr. Bob, is that w/ elevation(the 8")? Have some friends in Chatt as well. Their pics on FB would support the 8." I just know the city has a ton of elevation around town...How much did you all get in Knoxvegas? I haven't read back through the threads.
Tabbycat
Carvers, that depends on what side of town you're on. Stove and I got about 5.5, plus the tiny snow flakes since 4 a.m. to present, but the other sides of Knoxville had several inches when we were just wet. Tabbycat
I have an additional slightly over 1/4" since 4:30 this morning in nearly five hours of tiny, but steady tiny, snow. Stovepipe may have more, too, but he had 5.5 the last time he checked and I don't usually get as much as there.
Cotton7204
Officially got a foot in clintwood. Had to shove the front door open.

dwagner88
My sister just sent me a picture of her back yard measurement. They live a little over 1000 ft in elevation just to my east. She has just under 11", but that is likely taken on grass.

I have told you this before...but West Hills is a great suburb of Knoxville. That is a good total for Knoxville. Looks like they were on the mid-high side of early guidance. Officially got a foot in clintwood. Had to shove the front door open. Man, saw some reports from southwest Virginia. I have an unconfirmed report north of Abingdon of 16+." There are some sick reports up there. Snowing in Kingsport again....under the ULL as is slowly pulls northeast.
dwagner88
Picture from my sister: Even if it's taken on grass, that is still impressive. She definitely has more snow than me, and I only live a couple of miles away.
