Isn't ZR still winter weather....this looks like a significant winter weather event to me if we have ZR for 6 or 8 hours....

Good point. Perhaps I should have used "snow" in place of "winter weather". It's 30F here and I'd be surprised if it was still below freezing here in 6 hours. You're in a better location for more ice (for better or worse).

Wouldn't a sleet/freezing rain start mean things are warmer than progged? That areas might switch over to plain rain faster?

Not at all.  The sleet/freezing rain vs. snow conversation is a mid-level conversation.  Plain rain vs. freezing rain is a surface temperature conversation.  Further, some of the areas that started as ZR have already gone to snow as precipitation increased.

Ray - looks like the leading edge of snow/sleet is about to reach your stomping grounds in Ewing.  What are your thoughts on how much snow/sleet/ice/rain in the Trenton to Edison area?  31F here in Metuchen.

Edison could get a coating to an inch or so.

Trenton area looks like mainly sleet/freezing rain at this point.
