snywx
I wish it weren't true! Not a flake here! I am very far south though. South of merrick road is never good U can clearly see the frozen/freezing line here.. North of that line you will have Snow/Sleet.... South its either ZR or RA http://weather.cod.edu/satrad/nexrad/index.php?type=DIX-N0C-1-
Pequest
Still locked in here in Warren County NJ with light to moderate snow with a temp of 27. Will try to stay up to see some of those heavier bands make their way into western Jersey.
Wxnyc
Heavy sleet maybe mixed with some snow , look at the heavy band moving in to Staten Island and Brooklyn from the south , prob. all sleet.
IntenseBlizzard2014
Based on the 00Z RAP, the best 700 mB vvel lift is from 4AM to 7AM. That's when there will be snowfall rates around 1-2"/HR at NE NJ/NYC/WLI and over 2/HR from NNJ into Orange County, NY.

Going to be real tough for anyone even in lower Orange County to get rates like that with ratios in the 5-1/8-1 area.

SRRTA22
Yup. A 1016 mB SLP over Virginia Beach. Does that make any changes in the forecast in any way? Colder solution?
David-LI
Also Steve agrees this could mean a colder solution since the low was supposed to form off nj

IntenseBlizzard2014
Does that make any changes in the forecast in any way? Colder solution? If the coastal storm deepens faster than expected and the primary dies out quicker, then the cold air can hold on somewhat longer at the upper levels.
