Brief lull and now picking up again.  Light to moderate snow, but very steady.  Looks like the band in central MA is about to pass through, and could be here for a good bit.  Wouldn't be surprised to pick up at least a couple of inches from it.

Your sleeting? Had about 15 minutes of it earlier other then that we have been snow

we had about an hour and a half of frz rn and some sleet which morphed to an icy snow with reduced vis....light snow and sleet now but we eeked out almost another inch....hope we get some more into tonight but radar upstream for us looks meh

What a fun storm. The snow has a totally blue look to it as well. Really odd... last time I saw that was after that giant cement bomb in southern VT in like March 2010. What causes the blue?

 

I suspect you know this for real  ... but for those that don't, it refraction of light and it happens with more proficiency in the denser the snow and/or ice.   

 

Glaciers can almost appear like the sky in crevasses, for ex.

still getting some slow accumulation along Rt 2.  I have 1/3 mile vis in small aggregates mixed with sleety snow pellets in Ayer. Rad shows some tendency to back fill N of the Pike so it may not be quite over -- 'sides, the models had that QPF hanging back so this may be that.

 

8.75" now...

Red wavelength absorption preference over blue wavelengths
