HIPPYVALLEY
Switch just flipped back on, pouring big flakes. Going out to start clearing, hopefully I've timed it so we can add an inch onto the fresh piles to make them look just right.

Dotb
No radar returns, heavy snow, heaviest of the day Yep, radar shows us in a hole right now, but we have the biggest flakes I've seen all day at the moment. Steady, moderate falling.
TalcottWx
Might be CF. also notice worse snow growth near Wilmington. Sg isn't great but it isn't snow grains either. Intermittent flake types every couple minutes really.

eyewall
Wow getting absolutely pounded here. Vis estimate would be just under 1/4 mile at times. I wouldn't call it 1/8th just yet but none the less dendrites stacking quickly.

SouthCoastMA
This storm was pretty much over around 8:15am here. Received about 3.5" in a 3 hour period so not bad, but the dryslot definitely hurt the chances for 5-6". Congrats to those up near the Pike and CT. I'm also happy for NNE, I'm heading to Attitash this weekend and the snow conditions should be pristine.

We really only seem to have two types of events as of late...3-4" or 10-15"...can't get into that middle column.

eduggs
Finally back into some moderate snow! First parachutes I've seen all day! I feel like I'm part of the club now. I hope people further east get into some of the mid-level bands as they slide east.
TalcottWx
I think the 1-3" additional NWS circled in for the NH border might be low. Radar look absolutely awesome right now and its DUMPING.

Damage In Tolland
Question.. Why is there like pixie dust mixed in with sleet about 50/50? It's clearly snow but also a lot of sleet too. Is it due to lack of lift?
ORH_wxman
Question.. Why is there like pixie dust mixed in with sleet about 50/50? It's clearly snow but also a lot of sleet too. Is it due to lack of lift? The BL around 900mb is cooling to like -6C or -7C which is marginal for snow growth but yet at around 750-800mb you are above freezing. So any precip from low level lift is probably forming pixie dust/crappy flakes while higher up it is melting and then refreezing into sleet pellets. Although I did worse today than some events that year. It was definitely that dry slot that made it underperform.
