sauss06
Thanks! I'm sorry it couldn't be like this for everyone! no reason to say sorry, we had a great week here. 6" and sleet and ice today, looks like a winter wonderland!
canderson
Jesus of Heaven that was a painful extract-ice-fused-to-pavement experience. I got hit by one of my apple tree branches deciding to snap directly exactly the moment I was underneath. Woooo.
Santa Clause
Officially 6.8 imby, we were pretty dang close pawatch. Great storm, time to get State College a 6+ event.
paweather
Looks like the weekend storm may be a dud. Models are not phasing northern/southern stream.
CarlislePaWx
We are quickly running out of time for significant ice melting this afternoon. I'm locked at 33.1 degrees with only a hint of melting going on. Skies brightened up back around 1:00 however they have darkened once again. Still almost no wind...yet. paweather5
Man wind gust to 30 mph tonight and we still have a lot of ice on things could get worse tonight.
JamieOber
Looks like the weekend storm may be a dud. Models are not phasing northern/southern stream. I saw a met on PhillyWx say that this might allow a storm in mid-late week to develop better. So, maybe another Valentine's Day storm.
EasternUSWX
Still a lot of ice on the trees and temp at 33. If it sticks around and refreezes tonight when the winds pick up to 15-25mph, no good. Tree just broke in half behind my neighbors.

Santa Clause
Uhoh, that's right you may be taking a break. I'm going to be too though, leave for speedweek next Saturday in Daytona and stay for a week until the 24th. Should be an epic blizzard in that time frame somewhere haha. paxpatriot
Sitting at 33 here. Doesn't look like much of any ice has melted off the trees. Winds about to pick up in an hour or so. This could get interesting. I second that notion. Temps have busted low as well, so that re-freeze is already starting out there. We briefly got to 32.5F this morning, but have fallen to 30.8F already.

I was thinking sitting at 34 a light wind may help knock the loose ice out of the trees... but temps are starting to drop and the winds are just now starting to pick up... small branches are coming down right now... not a big deal... but just saw altoona peak gust of 39 mph... if that wind gets to this side of the mountains yikes... paweather
I know it is the NAM and the 18z NAM at that but this is darn close. it goes OTS but I don't think it would take much to ride up the coast. I am no expert though: http://mag.ncep.noaa.gov/ImageFourPanel.php?model=nam&area=namer&cycle=18&fhr=069¶m=500_vort_ht|1000_500_thick|700_rh_ht|850_temp_ht&size=medium

Rick G
8.2 inches here. there is a layer of ice on the top but I didn't measure it. My snow thrower was having some issues with the heavy snow and my S-I-l said it was heart attach snow. AMAZING snowfall rates last night. we had to have 1 to 2 inches an hour for a good part of the night. it started about 12:30 and ran until about 7:00 or so. Laurel Highlands Wx
I measured 4.2" or so on the top of my SUV. Looks like some of it fell off so maybe close to 4.5". Back home my mother said they only had about 3.5" of snow. Close to 2 " in sleet, and about 0.15" in freezing rain. School was closed so she had alot of free time on hand. Still lots of time for things to change and see if the models can get a handle on these 2 systems. See where this storm is at Friday.
