Mallow
The stuff over Johnstown is showing up as snow per dual-pol products. Mix to the south of KJST, but showing all snow at KJST. Which would be insane given the echoes over them right now.

irvingtwosmokes
So the dual-pol is lying to me. Good to know! It changed quickly. I know it's a basic radar, but WunderMap radar is showing the sleet/IR retreating to the west

wxmeddler
Seriously? Can we go even 30 min into a storm.. ANY storm without making the turnpike a parking lot? Facility: Pennsylvania Turnpike I-76 Last Updated: 2/4/2014 11:10:06 PM Description: Accident on Pennsylvania Turnpike I-76 east at mileposts 238 and 238, between East Exit 236 - US 15 (in Upper Allen Township) and East Exit 242 - I-83 (in Fairview Township) all lanes. Multi-vehicle accident with injuries, keep alert and watch for emergency crews in the area.
Mallow
In JST already...that's not good. It's not surprising. Even per the HRRR, it was only supposed to be 1-2 hrs of snow in KJST before changing over. NAM only had an hour as well. Remember, precip is happening earlier than modeled, too. CarlislePaWx
Well....I finally caught up on all the posts. They're coming in fast and furious. Precip started as an IP/ZR mix and is still the combo. Temp 26.1 / DP 21.9. Very fine glaze forming on top of the snow on the ground. I really hope my worries that I posted about earlier today don't come true, but I fear major damage to trees, especially evergreens. I won't try to predict the powerline stuff!
