WVclimo
yes, the euro is the coldest of all guidance at the surface so far. Mid to upper 20's through the night for you and something close to 1" liquid. Thanks, Bob. This area does ice storms very well, but it's been a few years since we have had a "bad" one. snowfan
I'm not so sure that there won't be snow to begin with for those in the WSW area.
clskinsfan
I'm not so sure that there won't be snow to begin with for those in the WSW area. The 850's are good for the first couple of hours. But I'm sure there is a nasty nose at that point. Maybe some sleet?

jums300
So, the 18z NAM appears to give all the areas that should have gotten decent snow and DCA .5" of straight up ice. That would be bad...

snowfan
Clearly, the NAM is overdoing the cold air for this. Well, that and the fact that ZR events rarely deliver big around the cities is the reason this thread is so dead. This could be a fairly high impact event for those N/W....as per the usual. stormtracker
That doesn't look good at all... nasty ice storm for all? If anybody takes the NAM thermals seriously after this past storm, they're crazy. Adjust that about 40 - 50 miles NW of the cities and it might be right.
