NattyBo
My mother is stuck on the MARC Brunswick line. Apparently there is a downed tree and live wires across the track and they have to hold indefinitely. Yikes.

mattie g
It does make a difference. Our lines are buried ad we have power. Yours will be back on soon enough I'm sure You're obviously more likely to lose power if your lines are above ground, but if transformers start blowing and power stations get knocked off line, then it doesn't matter if the neighborhood lines are below ground. My lines are below ground and I was without power for 7-8 hours overnight from the Jan 27, 2011 storm. And the derecho knocked us out for almost five days. ravensrule
800k out or about 2 million people in larger mid atlantic and northeast now per Matt Lanza. Lol, i wonder if Phineas who said this would be a bust has power. I love how people in our area say it will always be nothing because 90% of the time in our region it is, not because they have any clue what they are talking about they just play the odds. ravensrule
Have about .35 ice accretion it seems, although measuring this is not my forte. Most of my friends in the area are without power but i still have. A couple big trees are teetering now so it may not be long for me.
