Drove south, kiddo and I are staying at my parents in Pasadena tonight. Hubby is coming down for dinner and a shower and heading back home afterwards. Bge said on the radio the majority of outages won't be restored until tomorrow evening at the earliest.

Sorry to hear that. We got lucky and power came back about 2 hours ago. We we're just walking out the door to go to my wife's aunt in Reisterstown.

Glad yours came back! We couldn't chance it, not with a 13 month old in a cold house. So I had to make the decision. My mom will watch the kiddo tomorrow for me while I go to work. Good grandma bonding time

Power went out at 440 this morning..... Still out... Fire place in sun room helps but have generator going for minor things.... Space heater, phone, lamp, fridge.... This sucks

Be careful with the space heater they can be very dangerous.

For all the naysayers about ice, this one delivered. Good winter storm. It's a pain though. Had to chainsaw through about a 50 footer for my neighbor earlier, had a 5 inch diameter ash limb fall and mutilate 2 knockout rose bushes, and smaller limbs and branches all over the place. I ain't cleaning it up until the snow melts though.

Temp shot up from 33 to 41 in 1 hour with winds gusting to 30 mph. Lots of trees down already ...at least some melting was able to happen before winds picked up.

Good news, all melted here earlier today.   There is a lot of tree damage around town, it rivals 2/5/2010.  Cherry Blossoms account for about 50% of it again.

I said ice the shoulder, not the entire house.  ;)

Glad to hear you're crashing at your parents. Stay warm, and don't poke that bear of a shoulder. No excuses!

The difference with this one is that temperatures were a lot colder. Northern MD was in the mid-upper 20's as opposed to lower 30's.

Enjoy the comfort of a warm home and a mom cooked meal. Those taste the best.

And that's what grandmas are for. Free babysitting. :)

I wonder how different the effects up North and West would have been if it was not for the heavy wet snow that stuck to the trees a couple days ago? I assume there wouldn't be as much tree and power line damage.

The Philly area performed that experiment and the results were the same or worse.

Not sure what this means. Didn't the whole region still have trees with snow on them? It was almost surely a factor in spots at least IMO.
