7.5" here, as of 3:00 pm.  Snow definitely didn't fall as heavily the past couple of hours, as we had 6" at noon and thought we'd have 8-9" by now.  Oh well, not going to complain with 7.5".  Looks like there might be one more decent band coming our way - would love to tack on another 1/2" to get to 8".

That last little band got us up to 8.0", as of 5:00 pm, which is consistent with reports in the area, including an "official" report of 8.1" in Metuchen.  Brings me to 38" for the season, which is well above normal with more to come this week.  Woohoo!  Just finished my 3rd and last round of shoveling; definitely a heavy wet snow - have heard ratios were in the 10:1 range, which is more typical of this area.  This means our 8" were the mass/liquid equivalent of 16" from the 1/21 storm, which had ratios of 20:1.  I maintain that mass/liquid equivalent of snow is a better measure of a snowstorm's impact than depth, but I know I won't win that argument, lol.

Absolutely; the last storm was so powdery it was easy to clean; this one is causing problems to clean up and we have delayed opening tomorrow as a result.

I wound up driving the wife in around 10 am. Sidestreets were bad in S Plainfield. I went to Macy's to pay the bill, was the only customer in the joint, hung out with the folks for awhile, then picked up the wife around 2 and stopped in Costco. Only people in Costco too, which was getting ready to close. The highways were pretreated and were in great shape, 287 and rt 1 were fine. Had some grapple for a bit, then went back to all snow before it stopped around 5 pm. Was still snowing with the moon out. I'll leave it to others near me to get a depth. But overall a great storm that performed well. Delayed opening tomorrow for me and the kids.

I think there were a lot of 10 to1s and I think the QPF turned out pretty close as well .   Considering  2 days ago , this was  still a miss .

8 inches measured at Rutgers and 9 inches measured by my parents in Bridgewater. Looks beautiful there with the wet snow caked on everything. I'm in Atlanta now for the AMS conference so I'm a little sad I missed it but I'll be back for the potential big storm for the weekend. What an amazing winter this is becoming.

8.8" final here.  37.5" season total.

This stuff is solid too.  The previous two significant "fluff bomb" snowfalls actually were carefully disguised nickel and dime stuff(especially the more recent one) .  Some will protest that categorization, but they are seeing the half full glass as 3/4 full.  Don't get me wrong; they were great events for snow lovers, but not big kahunas.

It is also easier to believe most of the measurements reported by the public from this one because there were not drifts to inflate totals.

Special lol for the complete omission of New London County totals by whoever prepared it...the numbers around Groton / New London were not pretty...as they usually are.

Don't those totals fall under BOX?

Nope...all 4 counties along the southern coast of CT are the responsibilities of OKX...come to think of it, they left out Middlesex County, CT also...but they also don't get a huge number of reports from them either...I think the population in that county is the lowest in OKX's jurisdiction...but I'm not certain.

I know what u mean . I never had those fluff storms . Lasts storm I had 4 plus of baking soda snow and a town 10 miles away had 8 of fluff. 2 days later no difference between both towns after the fluff factor compacted
