superjames1992
Yeah, GSO's wet bulb is right at freezing now, though I tend to doubt we'll have enough precipitation to even allow us to fully wet bulb, so I wouldn't expect any issues for most areas. It's certainly possible, though, especially closer to the mountains.
FLweather
Had a five minute sleet shower here... that was it. That back towards the mountains if it holds together may put down a glaze or dusting of sleet. But Hrrr shows whats been happening... moisture drying up as it moves east. But whatever happens won't be too significant.

sparklecity
Some nice cloud to ground lightning going on right now. Looks like some heavy rain about to move through Spartanburg. So what's the saying about thunder and the 10 days following it?..... Hope the skies heal in time....
mackerel_sky
Well if you can't have snow, warm fronts are pretty cool! Pouring rain and temp is up to 51 from 48 in about ten minutes!
Gastonwxman
Gaston county's getting rocked with heavy rain and a lot of lightning to go with it too! Haven't seen CG bolts in a long while (VERY bright ones too), and the thunder's downright loud with constant rumbling. Temp's at 52°. Edit (3:20AM): Well, this storm was so powerful that it managed to ramp up the rain FOUR times after seemingly letting up and knocked the power out twice with the increase in lightning activity. Not to mention that the lightning has gotten far too close too many times near my neighborhood, making it impossible to even go to sleep. Has to be one of the most electrically powerful storms I've ever seen on a night like this!
norcarolinian
nice lightning show to the south ... thunder is rolling ... neat experience with snow still on the ground ... looks like some nasty cells in Tennessee at this hour as well.... If snow stays on the ground 7 days, then it's waiting for another snow. Add in the thunder and any blackbirds you see and we have the ingredients coming together for a big snowstorm next week. Gastonwxman
1.23" rainfall total from the very early morning strong thunderstorm that came through here. While I didn't enjoy the inconveniences that the storm caused me (Was working on a video through Sony Vegas Pro 10 when it hit), I have to admit that a part of me enjoyed the epicness of the lightning that it displayed. The weather out here couldn't possibly feel any better. 68° with a light breeze so the low 70s should easily be doable here for today's highs. Feels just like the way it does during April when Spring's really getting underway. A great day to head out and do some bike riding around town. [/DT] I've still a got a little snow hanging around, but it's almost all gone now, even in the fully shaded areas. The snow piles from the driveway should be around for awhile, though, and the nasty snow piles in parking lots might be around for at least a few weeks.
