TauntonBlizzard2013
Roads are bad all around, not sure exactly about the dynamics of operations...Phil would be able to add a bunch more on that but I'm sure it ties back to basically no warning. A lot of those drivers are doing private jobs/lots instead of hitting the roads. Yeah, I can imagine it was lack of warning. I imagine it takes a little time to mobilize all the private contractors etc etc. School bus that comes by my house at 2:10 still isn't here Oops
Baroclinic Zone
6 inches doable here? Close to 4 now. Spot 6", yes.

Clinch Leatherwood
Yeah, I can imagine it was lack of warning. I imagine it takes a little time to mobilize all the private contractors etc etc. School bus that comes by my house at 2:10 still isn't here Oops This is the point I was trying to make to CJ. It's not 1985...most families are two working parents. Buses being 30-60 minutes late or worse really throw things off. The 215 bus hasn't come through here yet, kids likely to be an hour or more late from school. They still haven't touched the side streets here so there's a solid 3+ on them of heavy wet snow. We actually got a little lucky I feel like this last 90 minutes underperformed as the band to the south stole some of the moisture. Otherwise I think we would have pushed 6" even here. Hoping for another 1" to put it in the mid 4" range.

Patrick-02540
2.5. In Woodbury, CT today, southern Litchfield cty. Under a nice moderate/heavy band right now.
Sn0waddict
Pretty nice band in the Lower HV/Danbury. If it holds together it might give CT a nice quick burst of mod/heavy snow.
leesun
It is ripping outside now. Heavy snow! My older son just got off the bus commenting how slippery it is outside. Great! My younger ones don't get off the bus for another hour. Vis. down under 1/2 mile
jamesnichols1989
33F and light to moderate at times heavy snow, lol all three, but the wet consistency to the snow is somewhat dangerous, as we have about 2.0" of snow on the ground, I think we can get 2" more to get to 4". Banding is strengthening to our southwest.

Snow is lightening up here at the moment. Just shy of 4. Hoping for another inch or two. I can tell you right now, after today, 100% sure schools won't be open Wednesday. I wouldn't be surprised if they started calling it tomorrow
Patrick-02540
Pretty nice band in the Lower HV/Danbury. If it holds together it might give CT a nice quick burst of mod/heavy snow. It extends nicely from Danbury, NE across CT to Tolland-Berg.

Clinch Leatherwood
Very tip They have treatments for that now. Taunton I agree on Wednesday. This isn't good. Heaviest pushing back in right as the little kids are in the buses
wxeyeNH
Cloud line is receding to the SE. Sun coming out with blue skies to my NW 29.2F. Another miss up here, congrats SNE. Clinch Leatherwood
The 2-4 3-6 looks good, SWCT FTW This thread killed it. Best forecasts around overall. My range was a little wide but I think we'll see some 5" amounts in interior SE MA and maybe some spot 6s. Heaviest snow of the day right now!! wow Yeah just looking at it, models all have the tail coming through and it may crank throwing down an inch or three on top. Could put a lot of areas over the top. We are back into good accumulating snow here. Significant weight on the trees, another inch or two of this slop and we may start seeing some minor power outages. Also starting to see some blowing around of the snow. First time all day. I'm in that band right now. It's not snowing any harder the flakes just got bigger so the reflectivity is higher.

Patrick-02540
Wow Darien coming in with 7 inches at 1:00pm, still have some heavy stuff yet to come through as well. They can end up with 10. Imagine those heavy, wet, towering piles packed up against the light poles at the malls by tomorrow morning. And 18 hours later, we begin to lay down another foot. And then on Sunday...well, we'll see.
Clinch Leatherwood
This winter is reminding me a little of that great 95/6 where every little event broke better and produced. Not to that scale or degree because we're getting 2-5" events vs 8"....but this is a homerun of a winter down here. Closing in on

And 18 hours later, we begin to lay down another foot. And then on Sunday...well, we'll see. Its possible. And looking at the models, there might be a solid layer of ice on top of the snow we get Wednesday. Exciting week for sure, I just hope the Wednesday Ice forecast of up to .5 doesn't happen.
