John1122
I wouldn't be surprised at all to see the death circle form over Eastern Tennessee. It certainly isn't unprecedented.
tnweathernut
WAA for the loss?? .... lol Hoping to hear ...soon ..... the euro ensembles are south and east of the op, that no low is in the lakes, the high is stronger and holding in place, and overall it's colder than the op with more QPF and a less pronounced warm nose....more similar to a Miller A. Did I cover all the bases? lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Tabbycat
The Olympics jumped a day in case anyone other than me that's interested didn't know that. The opening ceremony isn't until tomorrow, but there are sporting events tonight. I'm off Twitter until it's over because mine is almost all sports and I don't want to know the results so I just got lucky to see it starts tonight. Stovepipe
I like snowboarding, so I wouldn't mind watching some of that. But I don't do live TV very well. I guess I'll wait for the youtube highlights.

dwagner88
man, he snow shadow around CHA sucks. Tell me about it. I generally don't get excited anymore unless Birmingham, Atlanta, and Huntsville all get hit. That's the only way snow can't miss here. If any one of those three gets missed, generally we do as well. I'm not really sure why our snowfall average is twice Atlanta's. We certainly don't ever seem to get twice as much snow.

tnweathernut
It's certainly looking like a progressive pattern next week. I am hoping as we get closer, we can trend a degree or two colder for much of the state..... I wonder how much of the snow on Stoves snowmap is from Monday/Tuesday vs. Tues night/Wednesday? Stovepipe
It's certainly looking like a progressive pattern next week. I am hoping as we get closer, we can trend a degree or two colder for much of the state..... I wonder how much of the snow on Stoves snowmap is from Monday/Tuesday vs. Tues night/Wednesday? It looks like the first wave lays down 2 to 4 inches I-40 and north, west of the plateau. 1 to 2 up the northern valley. Temps are such a mess it's hard to say, but the southern valley definitely didn't fare very well on that.

Mr Bob
After being up here for 12 years...it is par for the course...I often wonder how the long term average got to be so high for CHA and TYS...One of the first forecasts I made for some ZR back in 02 or 03 was scoffed at by a valley native....I learned the hard way how things shakedown in the eastern valley. That is why more often than not I get a marked as a warminista. But facts are facts...

Carvers Gap
Off the clock...So, just too far out to nail anything down. Snow potential still looks good based purely on the pattern.
