snow.
stormtracker, in VA, there's a small bullseye of 12-15" in that general area...compared to 12z which had that region in a 4-6" bullseye...though again I do not know their reliability, I just bought the service today they tend to be snowier than they should be and the euro the opposite

usedtobe
it's a pretty deep layer...like 800-875 I think Jason's 50% chance of over and inch for dc is a pretty good call. Not so sure about where I live.

SLPressure
Apologies in advance for my spot on banter. This storm sucks for DC and south. Hey. I'm south, so it sucks. Good luck to the NW burbs and northern MD. Hope you all get dumped on at the height of the storm. This is one heavy qpf storm. Nice white rain for the rest of us. Will the 00z Euro make a liar of me? Hope so.
NorthArlington101
I'm ok with rain and heavy snow for a brief moment at the end. I have both feet off the rug, so anything is bonus. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk

lsukev
Although the SREF's are typically high, I feel as though they have gotten the generality of the snowfall location in the last few storms pretty well. Really happy to see that DCA and IAD are both upwards of 6-7 inches on the plumes and a lot of members are even higher.
NorthArlington101
All hail the wunderground! A mix of wintry precipitation in the morning. Then periods of snow expected in the afternoon. Temps nearly steady in the mid 30s. Winds NNE at 10 to 15 mph. Snow and ice accumulating 5 to 8 inches. EDIT: this is for 20007.
Jebman
There was some discussion earlier today about the fall line http://www.virginiaplaces.org/regions/fallshape.html I am about 5 miles west of the fall line. However, that will do me no good in Monday's storm. I will still see a great deal of liquid. Now Leesburg, that is a far different matter. They are well west of the fall line and they got 550 feet of elevation as well. I've seen that region. Rt 7 and also Rt 9, major elevation rises especially where Rt 7 hits Rt 9 - they are going to get absolutely annihilated by Monday's storm. They will probably see no rain at all - all snow and lots of it. Rt 7 where there is this bridge that I refer to as the Skyway Bridge, it connects to a part of Rt 7 that I called West Rt 7, that particular stretch has a LOT of rise in elevation. You pass under three bridges then comes a major rise in elevation as you approach Rt 9. Anyone who travels in those parts or who resides there knows exactly what I am describing. Monday that entire area is going to be a winter wonderland. We are talking hideous amounts of rain determined by only a few crucial degrees of temperature and two factors that often determine the winners in these meteorological contests: Elevation, and How far west you reside from the dreaded fall line. North placement helps too. You got elevation plus western and north placement, you are going to receive a fortune in heavy snow many times in these setups. nj2va
I'd be pretty happy with a thump of heavy snow for a few hours, even if it just accumulates an inch+. It'll be pretty on the trees.
peribonca
It's going to be a very dynamic situation and with heavy rates the column may cool enough even in town for things to switch from white rain to wet snow... accumulations are a whole other story in town though.
