Cold Rain
So far, regardless of the timing and details, most models give us a major winter storm of some kind.
FLweather
GGEM caves. It's over, folks. If its the same maps you looking at then the 1st wave is a dud. 2 wave is not much better.
superjames1992
South and weak. The trend is clear. Our only chance for real snow is with that first wave. The second wave is ice to rain, or just rain. Where are you seeing it? I only see it out to hr 60 and it's presumably a little south of the 12z run, but better than the 00z run last night. WidreMann
at 60 it looks the same as last nights 84. Do you have beyond 60 hours already?72 just came out and it's pretty light in central NC.

First wave is a dud, and it's not even worth looking at the 2nd wave because there's no way in hell that wave will have enough cold air to do anything other than give us some ZR to rain. WidreMann
So far, regardless of the timing and details, most models give us a major winter storm of some kind. You have a weird definition of major. I don't really consider a quarter inch of sloppy snow followed by a tenth of an inch of zr followed by rain to be a major winter storm.

CAD_Wedge_NC
My prediction is coming true. Hurry up and call the NWS and tell them you want a job. They could use a forecaster like you. Tell them that you got it all figured out. Heck, they might be interested.

packbacker
Are the amounts similar? We are in the .25-0.4" range, FAY looks to be in the 1" QPF range, crazy gradient, but we are used to that.

I don't really care too much about the exact placement this far out. We're in the ballpark so that's ok. Thanks for the info. I'm off to bed now. jburns
So you are saying let them be negative and just ignore it? Yes, because even if it bothers you a bit, one negative pose is better than one negative post followed by three more bitching about it.
