nw baltimore wx
I swear some people like modeled snow better than reality. Perusing the Weenie Handbook, I'm very comfortable 30 hours out with the "Bullseye Rule."

North Balti Zen
Is Ji really this much of a drama snow queen? Who wouldn't be happy with 12" of modeled snow? Plus, while I don't buy "north trend" mantra, I have seen enough heavy snow modeled to south and east of DC that ends up north and west to know that, in this case, if you are chasing an 18 inch result, the NAM is in a nice spot for Ji. If that model just spit out a 10-12 without the low closing off, that's a pretty great sign, I would think.
Ian
Ji is my favorite At least he's pretty honest. If I get less than half a foot I'm going to be quite disappointed.

We're in a pretty good spot in the cities as it stands but I'm not sure having the QPF stay southeast and not move means we're going to get north trended. The pattern is still fairly hostile for a huge amplification even if it happens.

mappy
Here's my Mt. Parkton prediction Friday morning mtparktonfrimorning.JPG that must be another Mt Parkton. I'm honestly cautious right now with totals. The GFS being so "out there" has kept me from being overly excited. I do not expect Euro like totals from this storm. And still, I know i have been down the road of watching Ji worry like crazy over this kind of stuff and then he ends up with twice the snowfall we see in the cities (or at least easily exceed the snowfall in the beltways). WxUSAF
amazing difference as you drive north on 83, right? Can say that again. Nothing in Columbia. Snow in shadowed spots in Cockeysville. Ground covered in Parkton. 5-7" on the ground in York-Harrisburg corridor.

The first mountain is independence. Just beyond is keystone resort. Far distance is breckenridge. We skied all over independence backcountry. There was gate access from keystone resort and a 90 minute hike and powder paradise. Arapahoe basin just went through a major storm cycle. Reminiscent of Jan 96 but later this year. Jan 96 was skiing month of my entire life. 150" in 21 days. When i'm on my way out I'll still be dreaming of that month.
