Jebman
I lived in Columbia, SC for 5 years... if they get an inch of ice, it will be absolute pandemonium nws is hinting at the possibility of more than an inch of ice in that region. I hope they stay safe.

I hope they stay safe. good lord... i hope so too. crazy dangerous to be taking a jebwalk w/o crampons with that much ice. in feb 2009, they got ~5in and all the fellas in their jacked up trucks were in the ditches everywhere. pretty scary considering ive got no prob in the RWD i was driving around during that storm with no problem. Bob Chill
Who's staying up for euro? I'm going to regret it tomorrow morning The best part about short leads and EST is that you can pass out well before 1:30 instead of waiting for d10 madness at 2am. Yes, thank goodness we are 48 hours from start. Mar 13 tracking sucked since we had to stay up an extra hour.

North Balti Zen
And looks like storm mode went AWOL during the euro run Happily, by then, the johnny come lately weenies were in bed and it was mostly only the hardcore weenies still up. That was a giddy 1/2 hour to be up. Lot of fun.

North Balti Zen
So everyone is ignoring the GFS? Pretty much. I am taking my cues from Wes on that. He was pretty dismissive of it on the radio show last night. Coastalwx was too, I found the radio show helpful for discussing that point. Their take generally was the Euro and its ensembles have been so rock solid that it is hard to do anything other than weight them signficantly. Otherwise, I would be freaking out that the GFS isn't fully on board. At this point hard to ignore that the GFS is literally by itself. Canadian/ukie/NAM/Euro vs. GFS at this point. And even the GFS has moved significantly toward those others over the last several runs.

North Balti Zen
When maps start coming out my guess there will be a lot of 5-9 and 6-10" guesses...talking about tv and cwg I am in New Orleans this morning, but my wife tells me WBAL in Baltimore went 4-9 this morning. That's a fine place to be for now, plenty of time for them to adjust up if/when need be.
North Balti Zen
By the way, the local New Orleans forecasts looking at 2+ inches of rain over the next 24 hours, plenty of juice with the sourthern stream system. Good thing, I suppose, for us down the line.
