Like -18C 850 temps over ORH at that time lead is pretty impressive for an ensemble mean. The longwave pattern def argues for a pretty strong arctic outbreak. We'll see how it trends.

I wonder if Ray is still waxing up the glove to throw around the ball.

All in all, EURO and GFS including ensembles are tremendous. There will be melting but there is chances interior areas get a whole lot more snow.

thats fooking bananas!! like i said before my aunt and uncle n of the city are closer to 70 or at it with the couple more they had yesterday. he said thurs am snowed so hard he couldnt see across the inlet which is right in his by

Yeah there are a lot of areas just off the coastline that are in the 60-75 inch range pretty much from NJ and northward.  Its been pretty remarkable for those areas.  For us up here in the northern tier (like northern 1/4th of New England) its been a bit more frustrating, though I'm still around 70" on the season, and J.Spin I think is around 90".  I love J.Spin's location for that, because he's like 20 miles as the crow flies from BTV and only 200ft higher, but has almost twice the snowfall.  To be honest though, a large chunk of our snowfall this season aside from two warning events, have been nickle and dime fluff that pads the seasonal total.

For me, I need roughly 50" more this season to hit average (120-ish), so hopefully the pattern stays active and we can get into the storm track for a few systems in a row.

Btv has more than Anchorage which has 45 ytd. So you should feel better

Haha sweet, that's why I moved out of there.  Its sort of like the Springfield, MA snow hole of VT right now.  Over this way, 20-30 miles east, it looks like the mountain communities are in the 65-90 inch range, still below normal, but a decent total on paper I guess, lol.

Anyone catch the NBC national news right now?  They did a special piece on the harsh east coast winter in the big cities and in the population centers..."Climate change is being blamed by most scientists for what has been a record breaking harsh winter for a large portion of the midwest to the east coast".   Of course climate change is causing this.  Well if that's the case, you guys closer to the big cities have a lot to look forward to in the future, lol.

That was pretty funny actually. Harsh snow and cold in the east because of climate change...didn't they say 2011-2012 torch/snowless winter was also because of that too?

It doesn't matter what the weather is, just as long as you can make a trendy headline out of it in the media.

Oh you missed a gem this morning. Who else would you get for a expert on climate change? None other than Bill Nye the science guy!!

Ridiculous ain't it?   Because before "climate change" we never had any harsh weather, warm/wet/dry/extreme weather.  each reporting station hit its exact average high and exact average low and precip came in right at monthly totals...
