stormtrackertf
Sorry guys I was hoping you all would remain mostly snow down there ... I just hope it doesn't stay rain until midnight like my PAC says. That would be brutal. I would have to think as the sun goes down it would help temps drop off a LITTLE bit even with the raging WAA tongue riding I-696 like it is at the moment. Especially since temps are so marginal as it is.
stormtrackertf
That may not be a bad thing all things considered. It's incredibly beautiful outside today!! Just spent the past couple hours with the kids & had a huge snowball fight!! Definitely is good snowman/ball snow, but not the snow you want to shovel/snowblow. Powerball
On the plus side, we still have a long way to go with this system, based on the radar.
stormtrackertf
If the snow switches back soon enough our incredibly moisture-laden 10+ inches of snow is going to be a beast to get rid of come spring.Makes me wonder if maybe, just maybe those age-old tales were true of the forests being so thick here along the river back when ol Cadillac founded the city, that sometimes the snow wouldn't melt until July. If there was a winter like this that lingered into March-April and was frozen solid with moisture, I could see it happening.
stormtrackertf
If KPTK isn't getting mixing issues right now it has to absolutely be RIPPING up there just past M-59.
Jonger
Yup, Detroit and points nearby will switch back to snow later on.... This might last a few hours though.

stormtrackertf
4 inches before heavy sleet here in northern Clinton Twp. All snow up there in white lake/flint? How much you think has fallen up there? According to the latest METAR from KPTK. seems to be all snow there still and that all but insures Flint still is snow. I'd say Flint probably has less than us so far further south but will end up with a deeper accumulation. PTK might be the winner so far.
chances14
pouring huge snow flakes here. easily over 3" so far. I69 is barely one lane. no snow or salt trucks around

roardog
Pouring giant flakes here too. Radar doesn't look as impressive up here but it's coming down hard. A little while ago it looked like a lull was coming on radar but it filled in rapidly just in time.

From what I'm hearing, they're having mixing issues in Auburn Hills as well. So yeah, we got a long way to go. I guess it will be a slop fest after all. Bleeding seems to have stopped, down a hair to 33.1 after topping out at 33.3 a half hour ago. Precip also has all but stopped except for drizzle.
