Chicago WX
Glad your scoring a few inches.. temp steady at 34 here.. Other than a little rain, nothing much.. looks like it's all staying north of here! Enjoy! Radar starting to kick up to your southwest...you should get something. And we got lucky here, with the nice banding from earlier today. Of course, after Hoosier said heavier snow was moving back in tonight, we got sucker holed. Ah, never easy. Up north, IKK set up nicely right now with some nice returns.

mimillman
trend arrow definitely pointing down...should still be a low end warning event but my confidence is decreasing. Yea the recent shifts south on the Euro and GGEM are rather discouraging.
Hoosier
trend arrow definitely pointing down...should still be a low end warning event but my confidence is decreasing. If the area from the south side toward I-80 can avoid mixing, then the jackpot probably comes from there but that is uncertain at this point. A-L-E-K
Yea the recent shifts south on the Euro and GGEM are rather discouraging. you've got about 10 miles south on me and should still be good for 6". My first made 72+ hrs out is looking pretty damn good.

RJSnowLover
Until I see LOT call for lower totals, I'll hang with the 6-10" and my high bust quality prediction of 8.1".

Whitelakeroy
One thing about metro Detroit compared to Howell, you guys don't suffer the drifting we get out here. We probably have twice the snow here, but all of our elevated and exposed grass surfaces have been stripped clean of snow, right down to the grass blades. Yesterday was terrible, my parents house had their backyard stripped right down to the grass, but they have 4+ foot deep extremely dense snow drifts. Those spots will probably survive a few weeks longer than the surrounding snowpack, whenever the melt comes. I'll be disappointed with anything under 5 inches tomorrow. Our snowpiles are becoming epic, with 5+ inches of dense snow, they will be epic++ Off some of the farm fields here there are 6'+ drifts. It is so awesome driving by snow drifts taller then my vehicle everyday. Though surprisingly here I don't see bare ground in the fields!!!

A-L-E-K
? You disagree? The 6-10" LOT call seems really bullish right now. it's still based of 12z guidance, they'll be adjusting it lower shortly.

You don't comment on ORD's wx normally so it came off to me like you're needling them.

Whitelakeroy
12z NMM and ARW snow accumulations: I think DTX's AFD did a good job explaining why a southern solution is still quite possible. Them waiting until things set up before any warnings I think is the right decision since tomorrow is just Saturday.

Whitelakeroy
Oh I know. Theres a field near one of the wyandotte schools that has a snsnow fence up...the snow us drifted 4 feet against the fence...then up to the school windows...then thr middle of the field is only a few inches. So glad we don't have too much open area. I know how it is up that way. Game is not over for you just yet ... sure it is 4th and 1 but NAM is trying to give you some life!!
