Jersey Shore snow
I remember an event back in the late 80's early 90's that had 55 degree temps before a similar event. That one snow 4-8" but on grassy surfaces only. Not one flake stuck to pavement. Was really weird to see. Looks like this event will have better rates though. I remember that event it was February, 1991, but late in the month and we never got S+
Absolute Humidity
I remember that event it was February, 1991, but late in the month and we never got S+was a weird storm, even the little patches of weeds in the cracks of the sidewalks accumulated 5" but 0 on pavement. Voyager
New SREFs juicier and 40 miles north How much stock can we put in the SREF's and does that 40 miles north involve moving the gradient north as well?

KamuSnow
New SREFs juicier and 40 miles north Happy for you if it verifies, although I was just going to post that the cold front crossing PA seems to have slowed down, any more reason for concern about temps and ptypes in far SEPA and could the continued north trend be reflecting this? KamuSnow
PHL will jackpot this. Stop worrying about science and face reality lol...I'm an optimist myself, just like you know I'll put at least 6" in for KPHL (gotta get #4). A little concerned though, hopefully unnecessarily. Rib
Warnings issued for 4-6 inches. Mt. Holly playing it safe and I don't blame them.
iceman56
4-6" predicted here, yet only a WWA - guess we need 6" in 12 hrs for warning criteria in western Chesco. Down to 47.4 here from high of 50.9. Still a general 3" of snow cover in the yard, south facing slopes are generally bare.
Sophisticated Skeptic
Yes, WxBell maps are nuts. I wouldn't say it's impossible though. Remember the Eagles game snow storm, where the rain/snow line was projected nowhere near that far south that day. Dynamics took over and they got a dumpin. can't concentrate on the blue line in these situations, there will always be some unexpected fluctuations...especially with weak systems, that have decent front-end dumps. RU848789
Waiting on Mt. Holly to turn the Blues into Pinks. I was too - very surprised the next tier of counties in NJ/PA north of 195/276 (except Bucks/Montco) were not included in the warning - they're all down for 3-5" and WW Advisories. svh19044
So question is, What will schools do now? Based on the timing they would be smart to close! Mix for the morning ride (or moderate snow), and moderate-heavy snow for the ride home is not going to make a nice commute either way. Unfortunately, most schools are already at or past their allotted snow days so the decision isn't going to come early.
