LVblizzard
The GFS is bad for pretty much everybody. It's not so much south as it is really weak.
Rjay
It's a whiff comparing the two. .78" of QPF on Staten Island, in snow --- to what looks like an inch or two. Yeah, it's a whiff. I see about .25 for nyc

WintersGrasp
.50" line crept up, but .25" line tightened up on the GFS. Still a few inches
96blizz
I see about .25 for nyc Fair enough. I didn't use the term 'whiff' as in a complete miss --- it's actual definition. That said, it sucks versus the other models (esp. RGEM/SREF) for those who love snow.

SnoSki14
It's amazing how big these differences are this close to the event, the Rgem and SREFS were big while the gfs and nam are more minor.

They're still playing catch up and will do so until 12Z tomorrow. If I had to bet, I'd say the RGEM creeps north 25 miles more. GFS and Nam will catch up fully by 00z tomorrow. Mitchel Volk
GEM very impressive around 3cm of liquid. Interesting, how the Canadian models are so much more aggressive with this system. I am still thinking 3"-6", but waiting for the ECMWF run. As for the UKMET I think it's quality to too low to be considered.
