Bob Chill
The sun-mon system? Oops, yes. Sun-mon. Wed looks wet but ensembles aren't good for CAD and things like that. Track is west and I don't think there is a chance that that can change.

stormtracker
Euro ensembles support the wave pretty well but with a more southern track. Precip jackpot is in central va on the means. Probably a good sign because if it gets too amped up on us it will suck. good look though even with the central va max. Good sign, I agree. Looks like our favorite model, the NAM is a little more amped and would be warm....unless the Euro showed it started off like that too?
peribonca
18z NAM doesn't look too good for Monday... a chilly rain w/ Central PA jackpot. Oh well, at least it's just the NAM
Bob Chill
Good sign, I agree. Looks like our favorite model, the NAM is a little more amped and warmer? Yea, nam did it's classic thing. Figured out something might happen so it went nuts with the amp. Anybody who worries about the 84hr surface panel needs to take a step back and rethink the nam

Heisy
While NAM looks robust, that is not what you guys in VA want to see, you want a more space between the two waves so cold air can be laid down first...

Oh well, at least it's just the NAM It's the NAM at it's last frames. Remember how our dca 4" inch snowstorm materialized on the NAM on later runs. It's right where we need it at this point, imo. needbiggerboat
OFG- Another long-time lurker here. I am willing to match your donation and will use LWX for my snow measurement. $10 for every inch of snow from Sunday, 2/2 through Sunday, 2/9. Any other lurker wanna help fund our voyeur obsession? I'll do $300 if DCA measures 20 inches of snow during that period.
OneFatGuy
I'll do $300 if DCA measures 20 inches of snow during that period. Fantastic. That makes 4 people! Next week will deliver if there is some $$ riding on it.
SomeguyfromTakomaPark
Well it looks like the GFS certainly isn't buying the NAMS amped looked for the Monday system, if anything maybe even a bit more suppressed based on the surface map at 87. LP08
Would it be safe to assume that since the GFS suppresses the Monday system compared to the Euro, that's the reason is shows more front end for Wednesday? I am assuming more confluence to the north?

WEATHER53
Going to be an odd set-up. Lots of energy charging across the country while a stout cold front stalls not too far to our south and east.
