MillvilleWx
Like the GFS, with Bob. Slowly getting better on the gfs. H3 not too bad. I was just going to post the same thing. I feel a shift NW is in order come the weekend.
Bob Chill
I'm fine with it...I don't expect the GFS to handle this properly Sneaky ones covering small areas are pretty fun. It's not moisture starved and the EPS is pretty bullish on precip for dca. More fun than trying to figure out whether we get .5 or 1" before it washes down the sewer. mitchnick
it's such an incredible balance between qpf and cold, it will likely only be a thin band, relatively speaking, of decent accumulating snow and like I said earlier, and others obviously agree, we need to get in closer before we know with "comfortable certainty" where that band of decent accumulating snow will be
DDweatherman
Think the Euro will drop a bit south, the gfs and Euro would make a good compromise.

Bob Chill
that could end up being the case of courselol- i was mostly referring to wed but you're right. As it stands now, wed's discussion will be how many flakes fall for how many minutes...eta: and the gfs says that's way too bullish for wed. lol
SomeguyfromTakomaPark
I have a question....not sure who would be able to answer this but here it goes: Why does the GFS dry the system out on our doorstep? What does it think is happening?
WinterWxLuvr
Think the Euro will drop a bit south, the gfs and Euro would make a good compromise. What I said about 4 hours ago. I think somebody said we can't do that. It's either gonna rain or not snow.

I paid for AmEx's model suite (which is courtesy RaleighWx). Others here use SV or Weatherbell.

clskinsfan
GFS is starting to show a signature for some CAD with the Wednesday system now. That one needs to be watched for some ice as well.

yoda
12z GGEM is a crushing of precip... comes in during the day Monday... so I can't tell if its rain or snow... Starts off as rain per the precip maps basically in N VA south at
stormtracker
GGEM looks like good QPF....barely snow?
yoda
GGEM looks like good QPF....barely snow? We sneak in but barely at 73... like really barely... EZF is battling the rain/snow line Rain/snow line sinking SLOWLY south... yes its a snowstorm at DCA... but we barely make it in Hrs 76-80 is the heaviest neige

Starts off as rain per the precip maps basically in N VA south at 70 light rain to heavy wet snow....1" QPF for DC...less as you head north...would be mostly snow..probably a 4-7" paste bomb for DC... Bob Chill
Looks like all you can eat neige for lunch. There's some good support for a pretty juicy area of precip with this system. Who jackpots is completely unknown of course.
