IsentropicLift
Day an night with the southern stream vort compared to 06z. It's much more intense and amped up.

REDMK6GLI
Boy that thing is just sitting over Texas saying, "please Mr. Northern stream, just give me one little piece and we'll have a party". Want to interject whats been the trend this year with northerm stream S/W, to actually be more energetic and stronger than originally progged. Not all situations are the same but something to consider nonetheless yank
jm1220
Want to interject whats been the trend this year with northerm stream S/W, to actually be more energetic and stronger than originally progged. Not all situations are the same but something to consider nonetheless yank If there's more interaction we could have a nice event very, very quickly. This is close to being a much bigger event if one or two pieces shift around again, and there's still some time for that to happen.

IsentropicLift
Shortwave a perfectly neutral tilt at hour 36. Like a perfect V right over Texas.
WintersGrasp
Looks close but no cigar...don't think it'll be huge changes from 6z with the outcome
IsentropicLift
If this doesn't happen it's all the northern streams fault. This southern stream baby is literally sitting with her legs open. lol.
bluewave
Looks like another case of almost but won't quite make it happen The 9z SREF's give us about .25 from the northern stream as the southern stream stays suppressed.
IsentropicLift
The flow down south is fairly slow with plenty of energy blowing by to the north.

IsentropicLift
Definitely some interaction now going on between the two streams at hour 39 as a piece of the ULL continues to eject eastward.

WintersGrasp
Not sure what big changes are seen on this run....it actually looks surprisingly similar to it's 6z run. Usually run to run consistency is not something common for our little NAM
IsentropicLift
The southern stream vort digs all the way to New Orleans but what a mess a loft.
bluewave
yep southern stream stays separate The flow is too fast and the SE Ridge disappears just when we need it to force the southern stream north.

IsentropicLift
That ULL needs to eject the energy faster and I believe it would have stood a better chance at dropping in. You can see a small spike in the western ridge right as all of this is going down.
REDMK6GLI
So close has happend every time for us this year so lets keep an eye on this I posted on previous page that northern S/W have been underforecasted intensity wise. I still think that this still has a chance, certainly slightly better this morning. It was a sizable step in the right direction for sure

IsentropicLift
Eventually the southern stream gets sheared out. The coastal weakens some as it passes our latitude and the northern stream vort takes over.

Allsnow
We need that costal to miss way se, no way the 2nd wave can amplify. We need more separation
