mackerel_sky
Oh no you didn't? jk Hoping the 0z shows our fantasy ice storm Yeah, slid it in while everyone was delirious from following/ living the ups and downs of the storm. After this weekends short warmup, we look to go back to normal/ below normal and a few small threats in the week or so after this.
Brick Tamland
I want one big storm and then bring on spring, warm and sunny days. I hope yesterday was just the opening act for the big show in February.
calculus1
I thought we were just keeping the pattern discussion in that one super thread that's been going on since December.

BullCityWx
Looking over the 6z GFS, it would mean SN kicking over to ip/ZR.
burgertime
Looking over the 6z GFS, it would mean SN kicking over to ip/ZR. We have the 18z, 00z, 6z GFS and the 00z CMC on board now. If that big High moves stays 1040 and is just in a slightly favorable position this could be a big one.

packfan98
Hi folks. We either need to lock this thread or turn it into the Winter Pattern Discussion Part III and lock down the one that's pinned (part II).
Cold Rain
Been a long long time since we've seen something like this... You'd think that storm would reform off the coast somewhere with the strong wedge in place. But no. It just plows right up into the Lakes. After dropping ice, it switches everyone to rain and thunderstorms. Models look better for some front end ice this morning. Looks like they all end up going over to rain verbatim but still a long time to play out. Would like to see confluence in the NE hold on longer. Cold Rain
Regarding the LR, the indexes still look terrible, but whatever. The 0z and 6z GFS start to shape up out in stupid land and the Euro around day 10 doesn't look awful. I would continue to expect lots of changes, but I hope to see a good pattern work into the short range before too long. Still plenty of winter left. And as expected, the SE ridge looks less potent today.

NEGa
1040 still showing up is strong enough to get the wedge in ne ga usually....thats a hefty high pressure. now if we can just get it in the right location lol. burger - you are right it has been a long time since we have seen something like that
