usedtobe
winter's in Washington often really do stink, and today's rain storm could drive a man or woman to drink. For recreation, I'm reading poems in this thread. I must have something wrong inside of my head. But winter is coming, soon, or so they say. and I'm ready to go out in any snow to play that's hard to do when there's none to be had. that makes many of us weenies incredibly sad Our spirits pick up with a GFS day 11 forecast one we all know on the next run just won't last We've started posting about storms that only bring rain. again I wonder what's wrong inside of my brain. But Christmas is coming, it's got to be white. Hopefully, they'll be cold air and a storm track that's right. that may not happen even in a El Nino winter season season. but when it comes to snow, many of us just lose our reason. So we'll keep hoping for snow cause that's what we do. We of the mid atlantic, americanwx weenies crew. it's good to share here, with all the other weenies. unless someone comes trolling and acting like meanies. Obviously today I was just a little bit bored. I hope this pathetic poem isn't a discordant chord.

PrinceFrederickWx
HM says snow is coming and he's a respected member, but that's not going to stop us from getting a shutout this December. The snow contest was full of fail, the guesses were too high, especially the one that went for 80 inches at BWI."the pattern will change", says the mets, "just be patient and wait",but all I see are clouds and rain like 1998. usedtobe
Wes is a met and a poet when there's time I challenge him to write A two-week outlook in rhyme That's a big challenge. I might try it later but not for awhile, I'll be doing a non-rhyming two week outlook tomorrow. The analogs being identified by thee euro ens mean do have some snow showing up on a few of them. It's not a great pattern but also not horrid.

CAPE
This thread has reached an immortal status. Quite impressive considering its modest, highly criticized(doomed to fail) beginnings. EastCoast NPZ
It's another winter in the mid-atlantic region Leaves have sprouted and fallen once again However, there is one constant no matter the season In case you missed it, friend, it is the wind Unrelenting, it blows day and night Fall, winter, spring, and summer Trying to find my trash cans - a constant fight Combined with a snow-less December - quite a bummer In some places it's accompanied by reach-around wrap-around snow Is it snowing here? Let me go outside to check. I'm back now; the answer is no My official observation: just like the wind, this place blows

Hoping readers will understand what it's all about Pattern's improving, that's what I'm trying to say. it may be good enough, somewhere around Christmas day. A yes the PNA ridge is forecast to build.
