wxdude64
Snow falls on the mountains snow falls on the plains One place it accumulates The other gets white rain Some are joyous, some are sour Some scream "Where's my snow!?!" Kay
There once was a low near Nantucket Whose path led to drips in my bucket But it moved up out to sea As fine a block as can be And caused OPM to say f(censored) And that's what kind of creativity you get from a 2am baby feeding Nicely done on the 2 a.m. limerick! Every Fall we see the same thing People wondering what the winter will bring Will we get buried in snow? Or will we still have to mow? So weenies look for maps and analogs that might clear up the fog Whats the water temp in the Pacific? It doesn't need to be specific Snow cover in Russia Better be deeper there than in Prussia(hey, so what if it is an old reference. I needed a rhyme) Sun spots, SSWs, squirrels with fat tails Anything that noobs can use to say it won't be a fail Every day we watch the models for hope Hey, look, the 380+ GFS is dope! Ensembles say the pattern is great Look for snow on this date Yoda posts CMC maps with tons of neige Clown maps become all the rage Weenies come out of hibernation To talk ratios and accumulation 12-24" is a lock Everyone from FL to ME will rock Euro goes a little warm NAM is cold, stays true to form We need the track to move just a smidge Or many will jump off a bridge Ian goes meh and hedges He rather be chasing wedges Hoffman says there's still a chance Weenies say "yay" and start to dance Snow falls north and west Parkton already up to their chest Not a flake in DC MattieG rages at PA deck pics from SC Matt despairs, cartopper at best Days of tracking for snow that was a jest Leesburg snow measured in feet Ji already asking for a repeat Lots of wailing and gnashing for weenies south and east Another missed opportunity to join the feast Snow totals roll in, amounts up above the door That's just from one person a few miles NW of Baltimore(say what?) First storm makes people cheer I barely got enough ice to chill my beer Pattern reloads Gonna need to brine the roads DC'ers say "we are due!" But we all know it will look like poo In the running for poet laureate. Bravo all. Bravo.

Nah I think it was about the same.. 6-ish. I'd have to go back and look. My biggest event last winter was early Jan when I got 7"+. But even tho I did okay on that boxing day storm 2010, was still frustrating as places just east of me had 10"+ and you didn't have to go too far into SNJ to see 15-20. Either way, you did better in March than I did lol. The early Jan. event was nice. 5" with decent drifts, and impressive cold. Jan. 21 or so was even better. Double-digit negative wind chills and 8" of cold powder. Great drifts too... 12-18" on the driveway. I could talk about past snow events for ever lol... Kay
I love cold and I love snow I don't want to have to mow Happy when it's 5 below I love snow and I love cold Make my snow predictions bold Winter just does not get old I love when the world is white Fully crushed by winter's might Work shuts down without a fight Bring the quiet and the still And the sledding on the hill Of snow I cannot get my fill Bring the wind and bring the freeze Cold that makes our engines seize Power lines adorned by trees It's not bad out here! I'll say Grinning in the blizzard's fray One day I'll be put away

Kay
j/k about the prose. We all must express our Love of Cold and Snow in our own ways. I would like to see more interpretive dance, though.

T. August
I thought by now we'd be up to our heads in snow With it being December, we'd have at least 2 months to go But with the current torch and two weeks down We all begin to fret and frown "The pattern will flip by late-month" they say But I think we'll be tanning on Christmas Day Heat advisories up, and exposed skin burning Deep winter feelings come up and start churning January brings broken souls and crushed dreams Some NE trolls post inconsiderate memes Day 10 storm's up, so step away from the bridge But next run it's replaced with a SE ridge By February, we accept and move on That in just a short month we'll be mowing our lawn Then, stated by Ian and The Washington Post "Winter's declared over!", and we begin to roast
