If you do it will become the winter cancel button.....

Lots of ice fog tonight with big fluffy flakes falling while driving under a moon lit star filled night !!!! Its going to be sad when this winter fades away into spring for it has been so memorable.

Haha :)

Hit -1 as of 4:27AM so add another sub zero reading to the list.

There were areas near Alma and Mt. Pleasant where they reported temps in the negative teens last night.

Patiently awaiting Monday's snow to arrive here.  Reports are that it comes in like a wall.  I've really only seen that a few times in my life, most memorably in the late seventies when I wanted to drive from Bloomington IN north to Indpls.  Started out on IN 37 in partly cloudy skies and there was a literal wall of gray, heavy snow on up ahead.  Turned around and went back to campus.

Was just comparing the latest model run temperatures across the western 2/3rd's of Iowa and eastern Nebraska and they busted. Temperatures over performing by 4-12° across the board. EURO seemed to have the least error.

GFS and Canadian seemed to be the worst.

Temp has risen up to 32.  Drove down to Hillsdale a little while ago and the main roads are just wet now.

+100

For once it was warm enough to keep the roads more slushy.

EURO has gone off the deep end -that last map. That's hard to do in January....

EDIT: MLI is above freezing already. IOW 35°.

If Detroit holds onto the negative temp. departure for the month (seems likely since we're at over -10 right now and the warmup doesn't seem to be like it's going to be particularly long-lived before another trough sweeps in), NDJF '13-'14 will be the first four-month below average temp. stretch since MJJA 2009. If the NAEFS and CFSv2 has its way for March, NDJFM would be the first five-month stretch in quite a long time - maybe some time in 2004?

That is an old school fake picture unfortunately, that usually makes the rounds once or twice a year.

I thought that originated from Antarctica. Probably too perfect to be real.

Real picture, wrong place, wrong description

Thanks guys. After I posted it, I wondered about the validity of it, but my bed was calling my name and thought I'd check into it this morning. Now I don't have to!
