February 2014 General Discussion

Wow. Sterling hit -29 on Feb 3 so it'll be interesting to see how cold they get too. They didn't get very cold this morning compared to some areas.

Air is extremely dry. Dew here is -16.

RPJ back up to -6 as of 7pm because the wind briefly came up but ARR already down to -14 (!). The dry airmass will certainly be conducive to some impressive numbers tonight.

OT, but as if we needed another reason NOT to name winter storms...I'm speaking with someone in Michigan who is not in tune with weather like us, and thought that the light snow she was experiencing was a part of "Winter Storm Pax".  Perhaps TWC is not discriminating between the developing storm and anything else?

Various locations in NE/NC IL at 9PM CST, warmest to coldest.  I thought the winds would have died down by now...but most locations still have NW winds from 5-8 mph.
