CoastalWx
Check it out. Notice the stronger more SW wind vectors encroaching on the Cape vs more westerly winds at 700mb over SNE. There is your deformation and thermal packing at that level which leads to frontogenesis and then a heavier band on the warmer side of the circulation induced in the atmosphere. http://www.twisterdata.com/index.php?prog=forecast&model=GFS&grid=3&model_yyyy=2014&model_mm=01&model_dd=29&model_init_hh=06&fhour=00¶meter=WSPD&level=700&unit=MB&maximize=n&mode=singlemap&sounding=n&output=image&view=large&archive=false

SouthCoastMA
Probably the final PNS. Nice event with a banded max by me but not quite Same here..just missed out on the best banding by about 5-10 miles to the S. In the the two biggies this season, you've made up with OES..but we have both missed out on the synoptic banding to our north. The OES component results in a difference of about 10+" more inches in YBY
