WinterWxLuvr
Sometimes...but I shouldn't have used the word lore. It doesn't always pan out, but most of the time it really does get a bit colder when CAD is involved the closer we get. You're right, not always. But frequently. Lore is fine. It just isn't a weenieism.

mitchnick
if the CFS2 is right, then this area of precip gets shoved south a few hundred miles and we see a massive snow before any change http://mag.ncep.noaa.gov/Image.php?fhr=165ℑ=data%2Fgfs%2F00%2Fgfs_namer_165_precip_p24.gif&model=gfs&area=namer¶m=precip_p24&group=Model+Guidance&imageSize=M

Bob Chill
Good run. Trending in. Tracking changeover timing and ice duration is always fun. It can get better. Vort wasn't so amped leaving the sw. Let's keep that going

Bob Chill
Miller B epicness if the cold air can hold on... Snow/Ice/Snow sandwich! I can't remember which model or run but that solution was on the table a couple days ago. I rate this run as a win.

Bob Chill
so for those who have it already, how does the system for next weekend look?....or isn't it out yet? Looks nice before crayola time. Good confluence overhead and nice vort out the west. I hate the gfs op after 192. It becomes a low res ensemble. Ewall is the way to go later
jums300
Is this the February 4th-6th threat we're talking about? The AccuWeather forums say that we don't do well with storm (contrary to what's being said in the last hour here). But, they're just forums, not models. The AccuWeather forums say that we don't do well with storm (contrary to what's being said in the last hour here). But, they're just forums, not models. It's subjective. It's a nice winter event verbatim but some folks don't consider snow/ice/rain good. But were good at those here. I like them a lot.

jums300
Accuweather forums are terrible. I've been lurking there for the last (maybe) 2 years or so. It's was my only source for storms...until I found this forum. I still frequent the site, but maybe I should stay around here more often.
Bob Chill
Yeah, the storm is still there.. Snow in n ga and sc on the run. H5 pattern not nearly as good for the south as yesterday. We're good. I'm much more worried about walking the line than any suppressed south solution. Good times

Ian
If the Wednesday storm was coming tomorrow it might be a big deal. Otherwise it's still pretty far out for people to get excited about an ice storm. edit: I guess it's a Tuesday storm. close enough.
