Geos
Major hit southern 1/3 of IL, southern 1/2 of Indiana, and most of Ohio. Then all the way down into central KY. Showing almost 2' for EVV!
buckeye
The models are going gonna have to adapt to the -pna regime. Most of the big cold will be trapped in the north central areas creating surface reflections on the edge of a big butted southeast ridge that needs to be organized and properly sampled. We are seeing the issues the modest system this coming weekend are creating. everytime you post it gets colder and snowier
iluvsnow
Don't leave us non Euro access folks in the lurch....the low was in northern Alabama...then either cheers or jeers from posters...depending on where their backyard is. Where does that rascally Euro low go from Bamie?
Geos
At 10:1 obviously. Tracks towards western VA, southern WV.

AppsRunner
Tonka trucks north with the 12z runs. I would agree the Euro is now but compared to yesterday's 12z it's not a huge change. As a whole suite though I'd agree there's a lot better consensus for something to impact the OV at the very least.
Sidewinder
This. I have my thoughts on who the Indy TV met was who is posting snowfall maps but I have seen numerous postings on Facebook "the Farmers Almanac said we would get over 16 inches of snow this weekend!" Kill me. These guys are notorious for posting GFS 384 maps. https://www.facebook.com/bamchase They charge for a subscription to their "premium" service. Truly amazing that people pay cash money for to get super secret information that is *edited* publicly available
A-L-E-K
BAM Chase might be the most pathetic thing i've ever seen...the tacky ads, everything.

They aren't the only ones however. There is an Indiana group (won't say the name because I believe they may have an account here) who are notorious for blowing up the extreme cases. There are more reasons why I relay to all my friends and family to not trust them but that is another story for another day. And of course as I type this, my co-worker just emailed me saying her mom saw on Facebook "model guidance showing 30" in Bloomington"

buckeye
euro ens look pretty close to the OP maybe a bit nw...looks like track from AL to WV with a secondary over western SC....not sure if it's doing a double-barreled thing or showing a transfer. Stebo
pretty bad when the nws has to issue this Wow I am a bit surprised that they would post something like this, they must be getting slammed with calls over it, for them to actually take time to post this up. buckeye
That would be an unusual location for a secondary. I agree but there are two closed areas of low pressure, one is over central WV, the other over the western Carolinas probably just the way the contour lays out...not two areas. Stebo
That would be an unusual location for a secondary. My guess is there are 2 camps with respect to low track, with most of the members in the AL to WV track but a few are further southeast.

Thundersnow12
Oh my. 18z GFS could come further north. Much better alignment/phasing at 114hr. Northern stream wave further west. Gosh does this image bring back memories.

snowstormcanuck
Would at some point like to see the models close off a mid level center with this thing. So far that's the main missing ingredient that'll turn this from a decent snowstorm to a monster.
JayPSU
Ewwww, looks like an ugly ice storm for CMH. Weird to see the GFS as the more northerly model.
buckeye
18z GFS is farther north. Surface low is in eastern Ohio at 156 hours. A bit disconcerting for those of us fearing the nw trend. If the gfs is going to score a coupe, this is how it will happen, (by holding steadfast with the most nw solution).
