JQPublic
Very tiny flakes, but coming down enough to begin covering cars/roofs/rd.
burrel2
Where are all the reports from the Macon/Augusta/Columbia area’s. I’m Interested to know what’s going on in those locations. I wound up with a little over an inch here. I was expecting a little more, but I’m not going to complain!
Cold Rain
Ground turning white here with decent rates. It would be nice to see the snow hole upstream in SC fill in. Seems to wax and wane.
philconnors
Unbelievable stuff here in Birmingham, AL folks are still walking home. Here in Hoover, AL right at 2.5 inches with a temperature of 18.4.
Brick Tamland
Disappointed a little with how tiny the snow is. It's really light so far. Last week's dusting was more impressive than this so far.
DeltaPilot
I think you guys looking at precip backing towards the north in the ATL metro area are a little "delusional" . I still see that back edge creeping this way.
mikepie
Still snowing moderately in East Point near the airport. The end of the precip still isn't moving SE. Maybe the rap is picking up on something.
LovingGulfLows
Green banding building in the Southern Atlanta suburbs streaking SW to NE. Could give an extra half an inch to one inch to those areas by the time it's over. I'm a little over 2 inches from the last I measured....could possible 'unofficially' get over 3 inches if it last long enough. http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?product=NCR&rid=FFC&loop=no
ctweather
In columbia we have had some light freezing rain and sleet but no snow quote name="burrel2" post="2696354" timestamp="1390953084"]Where are all the reports from the Macon/Augusta/Columbia area’s. This is what snow looks like when it snows at this temperature. I don't think the flakes will get much larger. Dry dry dry.

We had partly cloudy skies most of the day here in Columbia, since then some rain and a little bit of sleet.

Blue_Ridge_Escarpment
Unless that batch of snow in Tennessee makes it's way across the mountain chain I will finish around 2.5 inches which is pretty impressive for this storm considering the models had nothing here just a few days ago. Roads in the county worse I have seen them in a long time. Temp currently 18.

I thought when there was talk of it snowing an inch an hour and the ratios being higher than 10:1 that it would be some big, heavy snow.
avianman
Disappointed a little with how tiny the snow is. It's really light so far. Last week's dusting was more impressive than this so far. It has snowed like that for 8 hours now in Hickory and we have about 1.5 inches. Still a very pretty snow! Roads are a mess!

I thought when there was talk of it snowing an inch an hour and the ratios being higher than 10:1 that it would be some big, heavy snow. That would make sense, but note how fast it is accumulating as it is now.
ScottL
Snowing in north Macon (near the new mall). 31 degrees at nearest WUnderground station.
SnowNiner
Nice cold snow for sure. This light powders not going to get it done here near the airport at clt. No way we get over an inch imo.
Pilotwx
Well the back edge is almost here. So this has been a Historical Storm for me!! It has snowed for almost 12hrs. with no let up. Now and I have grand total of 1 inch. Not complaining because I was forecasted to get nothing.
packbacker
For central NC peeps you can see on the radar the heavier returns setting up right along US-1 going right through RDU, I would think east of US1 looks great for 4"+ but does it build back west for people west of US1, I am right on US1 and it has picked up now, but this could very easily just slide east and be left with light snow, where I would only get 1-2" over the next 6-7 hours. Brick are you east or west of US1? I know Allan is in Louisburg which is right on US1. 10 miles will be the different between 4"+ or less than 2". calculus1
Awesome sir!! Winding down now but I will call about 1/4". Seeing how I was not really expecting to see much, I sure am happy. Been snowing since 11:30. Road are wreck here! But I got my first jeb-walk in since a few years back! Congrats to the lee side Yes, congrats to the lee side. But, someone's going to have to fill me in on what a jeb-walk is. That's a new term/phrase to me.

nwupstatewx
Ended up with just over an inch in Easley, SC. The roads are as bad as I've seen them in recent memory - US123 from Greenville to Clemson is nearly impassable in areas. That last moderate band made road conditions much worse than they were earlier in the afternoon.
Wild Weather Monger
I am with you there. I have right at 1" on my porch rail. Seems we got more sleet than snow. If we could be some big fluffy snow flakes than we just might make that 2 -3" mark. I live in Loganville as well. Yeah, amazingly, we were something like 5-8 degrees warmer than downtown all afternoon. Even though we were below freezing, still wasted a lot of accumulation to melting. Lets hope mother nature throws us a bone this evening.
FallsLake
The ground is quickly getting white up here in N Wake County. Still light snow but nothing is melting(18.7 degrees at house). Radar does look like it's back filling towards Durham. This may be the .5 line that the models have been showing; or at least that is what I'm hoping. WeatherNC
Seeing a good bit of evidence based on the L2 feed out of RAH for the area between Sanford - Louisburg, east to a Clinton - Elizabeth City line filling in significantly over the next 2-4 hours. NRVwxfan.
Freezing rain and sleet in blythewood. Glaze on all surfaces, road getting slick.
LovingGulfLows
I think RAP will overrate the QPF totals for some areas in GA, SC, and NC. It didn't have that massive heavy band go through Atlanta like it shown. I think it has done alright for me...I was forcasted for .3-.4 and I'm about 2.5 inches and still snowing so it may be right for me...but I don't know...and the radar returns in NC just don't seem as impressive to me as I thought it would be. dg12x
31.6F with light freezing rain in the West Ashley area of Charleston. Cars, trees, and signs coated in ice. Roadways and walkways just wet. Seems like we're about to enter a break in the precip.
