LMA1973
I thought that points west of the Triangle werent going to get anything? How is that its been moving west to east and east to west both today? Asheville, then Winston, then Greensboro, then Durham is an eastern trend no? Scooter
Been snowing here just south of High Point for the last 2 hours. .25 at best but nothing sticking on the roads. Very fine flakes. Wondering if RAH is gonna be right with us just getting a dusting-1". Was hoping some of the moisture downstream will make it our way.

superjames1992
I just got home from class. The roads were mostly okay, though covered in places. It's been snowing pretty good for a good while now. It's beautiful!
Plowable
32 and light freezing rain . They say alot more warmer air has moved in off ocean and moved much further inland than the models showed. So not a whole lot of snow forecast here 1/2" zr and sleet expected .
a5ehren
I think the big issue here is that the NWS was slow in issuing the WS Warning and most schools/businesses thought that there would only be a dusting so it was pretty much a normal day for people on the roads, then when it came down hard at noon everyone tried to go home all at once. Like Snow jam 82 but a lot less snow and no ice, but same principle. Rush hour here is bad enough on a clear day, much less a bit of snow and everyone in the whole dang metro area trying to get home at the exact same time. The real road problems are going to be tomorrow morning assuming the slush doesn't evaporate overnight...

The changeover line on TWC radar is right on FAY.

RaleighWx
Really strong lift over Raleigh at 9pm. Raleigh folks relax. Snow should start in next 1-2 hours. Short term models look good for a nice 4-6 hour period of moderate to heavy snow. The snow hole is not really it is due to the radar beam height which is higher away from the radar site in Garner and near the surface at the radar site.
